In recognition of the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, Vandenberg
SFB Youth Programs is proud to have led a youth-led community service initiative focused on giving back to those who serve.

Our youth engagement project embodied the spirit of unity, resilience and service by organizing, making and delivering fresh and healthy snacks and mini meals to active-duty members, veterans, base personnel and other community members in need, modeled after a "meals on wheels" style program.

This project not only honors the memory of those who lost their lives and the heroism of first responders on 9/11, but also empowers our youth to take active roles in the community.

Youth planned, prepared and assisted in delivering snacks/mini meals, while also sharing handwritten notes of gratitude, creating a meaningful connection between generations of service.

Through this initiative, our youth will learn the importance of civic responsibility, compassion,
and service leadership; values that strengthen both individual character and community
bonds. This day of service is a powerful reminder that even the youngest citizens can make a big impact.
