The Vandalia Little League is now accepting applications for umpires for the upcoming season! ⚾️

Details:

Pay: $40 per game for Homeplate umpires, $25 per game for Base umpires.
Age Requirements: Homeplate umpires must be at least 16 years old, and Base umpires must be at least 15 years old for most divisions.

📣 Little League Sign-Ups Are Here! ⚾️🥎

Get ready for an exciting season of Little League! Registration is open from February 3rd to March 4th, 2025. Here are the details:

Coach Pitch: $15
Baseball & Softball: $35
Family Rate (more than two kids): $80
Eligibility: Ages 7 to 16 (You cannot turn 16 before August 1, 2025).

Forms have been sent home with your child from Van-Far. If you need a form, please contact:

Make checks payable to: Vandalia Youth Ball Association

Tonight is Vandalia Night at the ballpark. At 6:30 on the small field will feature our local minor/pixie teams coached by Jayda Borgmeyer and Alex Schuckenbrock, and on the big field, major/petite teams coached by Stacy Hamlet and Mandy Reading. At 8:30 on the small field scrimmaging is the atoms division coached by Kristiana DeTienne and on the big field the sophomore/major teams coached by Charla Smith and Dee Wheeler. Come support our local athletes and buy a Woods pulled pork sandwich with chips and a drink for $8.00.

This has been a busy weekend for the Vandalia Little League members. Saturday, some of our board members reset all the base mounts and drug the field and cleaned out the equipment shed. Sunday, the county board met and scheduled all the games for each division. Evey coach will be getting their schedules soon. If you haven't heard from your coach, please sit tight and they will be getting in touch with you sometime this week. It takes a little time to get everything ready for the beginning of the season. Also, we are still accepting umpire applications. You can pick them up at City Hall, State Farm Insurance or at the High School. The pay is $40 (16 & up) behind the plate and $25 (15 & up) for bases.
