Total excitement! Congratulations Dr. Baruch Kvasnica and to the Board of Jerusalem Seminary and University of the Holy Land for their tireless due diligence.
A historic new chapter in biblical education has opened here in Jerusalem!
After a process steeped in prayer, discernment, and consultation, it is our joy to share the news that The University of the Holy Land is joining Jerusalem Seminary. Beginning this coming academic year, the two schools are integrating into a a single institution.
For those who may not know UHL: for forty years, Dr. Stephen and Dr. Claire Pfann built the University of the Holy Land into one of the most respected places in the world to study the Bible in the land where it was written. Stephen was a leading scholar of the Dead Sea Scrolls; Claire taught the world of the New Testament with a depth and warmth her students remember to this day. Together they trained generations of Christians to read Scripture in its original setting, and their teaching reached well beyond their classrooms through the many documentaries and films their work made possible.
After both founders passed away this past year, the school they built almost came to an end. Instead, its legacy will continue here with us. UHL's graduate programs, faculty, and students are finding a home at Jerusalem Seminary, joining our School of Hebrew and School of the Bible within a newly expanded School of Graduate Studies.
We are delighted to help carry the academic legacy of UHL forward, and Admissions are open for the coming year (and the one following)!
