Per Kokowagayo, on November 26th Sumatra experienced floods and landslides in almost every village. We are isolated due to many bridges and roads being washed away, and landslides that have cut off the distribution of food supplies. Food supplies can only be delivered by air, many farmers and their families are without food and other basic necessities. While roads are being re-opened, they are still muddy and difficult to navigate. Funds collected will be sent to them around mid January, 2026 to be used for food and necessary emergency relief supplies.

Join Us In Spreading SMILES
Like everywhere else, in the remote coffee communities Christmas is a time of family, sweets, gifts, celebration, friends, solidarity, leisure and chocolate. The Panetón, Christmas Bread, is a symbol of Christmas in Peru. It seems like so little to us, but this is a program that the parents request each year. La Chocolatada, as they call it, brings celebration to the community and puts smiles on the faces of the children and, in turn, on the faces of the parents.

Give SMILES This Giving Season
"A Coffee Child's Christmas" is a program aiming to truly make it a Feliz Navidad for the children in remote coffee communities of Peru.

Each year, the Café Femenino Foundation provides funds for a cup of hot chocolate, traditional Christmas bread and a t-shirt to more than 2,600 impoverished children in the coffee communities in Northern Peru. La Chocolatada is a custom shared throughout Peru bringing joy and happiness to children of all ages. You too can put a smile on the face of a child by making a donation here.
