The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has responded to the Washington fires through welfare assistance, food programs, volunteering, and many other efforts.
The Church had 3 truckloads delivered to different areas (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6RVay3aNNs). They are currently serving 650+ shelter residents and broader fire-affected communities. They have helped individuals and families with lodging.

There have been local stories where a pancake breakfast was held for local neighborhoods that were affected by fires (https://www.triyaknews.com/features/pancake-breakfast-to-support-the-spokane-fire-victims/article_3ee3d9ec-a01e-43d4-bb4b-c6080776eb73.html).
Teens postponed their backpacking trip to help out those that were affected by the fires (https://favs.news/spokane-teens-help-wildfire-victims-fairview-fire/).

TEMPLE TUESDAY | August 18, 2026

The heavy steel framing for the portico at the main entrance of the Vancouver Washington Temple is now complete. Steel erectors spent the past week constructing the framework for the temple’s future main entrance.

On the south side of the temple, glass installation is nearing completion in the sealing room window, with the rectangular sections in place. Inside, sheetrock installation is progressing on the third floor. At the maintenance building, sheetrock work is also underway, along with installation of the chiller, part of the temple’s cooling system.

TEMPLE TUESDAY | August 11, 2026

This week, steel erectors are back on site as structural framing begins for the portico on the south end of the Vancouver Washington Temple. A portico is a covered structure at a building's entrance, and this one will form the temple's future main entrance.

Inside, windows are being installed in the sealing room on the south end of the temple. Sheetrock work is also beginning in the maintenance building, while additional steel framing, scaffolding and stonework continue throughout the site.

TEMPLE TUESDAY | July 28, 2026

Friday marked a major construction milestone as the Vancouver Washington Temple's spire was set in place. Fabricated by Munns Manufacturing in Tremonton, Utah, the spire arrived in two sections and was installed one piece at a time. With the spire in place, the temple now stands at its full height of 176 feet, measured from the ground-floor entrance to the top of the spire.

Inside the temple, the baptismal font is currently filled with water while crews test its watertightness. A special additive mixed into the concrete expands when exposed to water, helping seal tiny openings before work on the font continues. The font will later feature a custom tile mosaic.
