Prairie Tavern is opening its doors to something truly special — Dementia Friendly Clark County’s new Memory Café beginning October 2 and every 1st Friday, 10–12. Shawna and Dan have created a menu just for PLWD and their care partners.
A Memory Café is a welcoming, judgment‑free social gathering for people living with dementia or changes in memory, along with the care partners who support them. It’s not a lecture, not a medical appointment, and not a support group — it’s a fun, relaxed place to connect.
Memory Cafés offer:
*Social time where everyone is understood and included
*Interactive activities like music, art, storytelling, trivia, or gentle movement
*A safe peer connection with others who “get it”
*A warm, community feel
These cafés are part of a growing national movement designed to reduce isolation and increase joy for people living with dementia and their care partners.

Meet Me at the Museum — August 19 at 10 am
The Clark County Historical Museum’s newest exhibit, Moments That Made Us, is the perfect place to celebrate America’s 250th birthday together. It’s a beautiful walk through the stories, objects, and memories that shaped our nation — and our community right here in Clark County.

On August 19, we’ll add a little extra fun: American music trivia woven into the visit. Think familiar tunes, joyful memories, and a few surprises that might spark a smile or a great conversation.

Whether you love history, music, or simply gathering with friends, this is a gentle, welcoming outing for PLWD and care partners. Come explore, connect, and enjoy a morning filled with meaning. RSVP below.
