To serve the community through education and services provided by the members and through donations of articles made by members.
2. To expand the skills and knowledge of its members by means of programs held at membership meetings and by hosting classes and workshops. Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month from 6:45-8:30pm
Guests may attend up to three meetings a year. Our meetin

Talk about knitting connections! Geri Baer, long-time guild member shared this one:

Geri Baer knit this piece back around 2010 when she and her husband lived in England. She got the knitting pattern from a ladies magazine there. Fast forward to about 2023, she bought the book Knitting America: A Glorious Heritage from Warm Socks to High Art, authored by her friend and knitting historian, Susan Strawn. Was Geri surprised to see a photo in the book of the EXACT sweater Geri had knit in 2010! And it was a pattern from 1917! Geri and Susan really had a laugh over that!

Fall Knitting Retreat Fashion Show Photo Dump, Part II!

Knitting joy never ends!

From lace to crochet to fair isle to cables to brioche to gnomes (Did I mention cats?), the variety of knitting and crocheting skills on display at the retreat was stunning!

The twice yearly joint Fort Vancouver and Tigard Knitting Guild is a thing to behold! Another very full retreat with the dull roar of friendship and laughter, great food and friends, a trip to LYS (and a stop ), and lots of outdoor walks.

The talk by Ukrainian knitwear designer was nothing short of awe-inspiring. After hearing her story and seeing her gorgeous botanical and Ukrainian heritage-inspired designs, we all rushed to her website to choose one (or several) to cast on!
We can't wait to do it all again in the spring, 2026!

Meet Vera, !

"If you told me 20– no, even 2-- years ago that I would one day be the president of a knitters guild in the PNW, I would have laughed. But here I am. I’ve lived in many places -- including overseas -- and the last place I was before Vancouver was the east coast. When we moved to Vancouver, I knew no one. I am a lifetime knitter, and I was looking for knitting community during Covid. I came to the guild seeking people, and I stayed for the people! I actually met them all on Zoom first, but the creative community in the guild and the creative thinking in the PNW hooked me. It’s all happened so fast. I am so embedded in the guild that I can’t imagine my life without it. What would I do if I moved across the country? I guess I’d be on Zoom to Vancouver every month while I decide if my new city had a guild that could provide the same sense of community!"

"Knitting Ambassadors!" is our new series, in which Janelle sits down with knitters to find out what knitting means to them!

Who are the knitters around us and what do their knitting lives look like? How does knitting shape YOUR world? Follow us to hear the stories and see the faces of knitters! AND tell us about YOU in the comments!

Fall Retreat Field Trip to Knotty Lamb

The joy is palpable!

Every time knitters gather (even for retreats, in which we should be retreating ... but I digress ... ), there is talk of projects, then yarn, then yarn shops, then which yarn shops are close by and then who's driving people to the shop.

And Knotty Lamb is a twice-annual favorite stop during our knitting retreats!

Photo Shoot Fall 2025: Part I

Every year at the fall knitting guild retreat, we head outside for a photo shoot! Everyone's hard work deserves a "pro" touch :) You'll find that knitters take their photo styling very seriously! But you'll also see irresistible knitting joy bubbling to surface for all to see when they get to share their knitted treasures with the world.
