Trip season is officially back, and our volunteers have hit the ground running! 🐾

This month, our Care Knows No Boundaries (CKNB) volunteers joined forces with our incredible partners at The Parker Project to bring compassionate, preventive veterinary care to pets and their people across Navajo Nation.

Spanning more than 27,000 square miles with only a handful of veterinarians, Navajo Nation faces extraordinary barriers to care. The Parker Project has been working tirelessly for years to expand spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and wellness support throughout these communities — all with the goal of keeping animals in the homes that love them. 🏠

On this recent CKNB trip, our six amazing volunteers showed what compassion in action truly looks like:

🔸 200+ spay/neuter surgeries performed
🔸 200 pets vaccinated
🔸 A litter of puppies treated for parvo
🔸 One puppy treated for a broken leg
🔸 Dozens more pets seen for minor illnesses and injuries

To our volunteers and our partners at .parker.project, thank you for meeting these communities with dedication and heart. Together, we’re expanding access to care where it’s needed most and creating a better world for pets, one trip at a time. 🧡

As we step into 2026, we reflect on an extraordinary year and a decade of impact. 🙌

In 2025, we celebrated 10 years of making preventive care possible for pets who need it most, and together, we achieved incredible milestones. Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our donors, the hard work of our volunteers, and the dedication of our program partners, we accomplished:

🐾 Awarded $3M to support preventive care in under-resourced communities across the country
🐾 Helped 142K pets access essential care
🐾 Completed 10.5K volunteer hours through 73 Care Knows No Boundaries trips
🐾 Funded 477 grants to strengthen communities nationwide
🐾 Helped 290+ income-qualifying pet owners access emergency veterinary care through our HOPE Funds program

These numbers demonstrate the power of compassion in action. Last year, we helped bring affordable veterinary care to underserved communities, provided critical support when disasters struck, empowered volunteers to deliver care where it was needed most, and gave families a lifeline during life-threatening emergencies.

Looking ahead, we’re entering the next chapter with even more passion and purpose—expanding access to care and creating healthier futures for pets and the people who love them. 🧡

Care Knows No Boundaries in Kayenta, AZ ✨

Volunteers are critical to delivering care to pets in need, and we celebrate them every day of the year! Last month, our incredible veterinary professionals traveled to Kayenta, Arizona—a remote community with limited access to veterinary services, to make a lasting impact.

Together, they provided preventive care to 346 pets, including vaccinations and flea/tick protection, and identified 63 pets for upcoming spay/neuter surgeries. They also helped rescue four dogs from the streets and are working to ensure an entire litter finds safety and care. 💉

With more than 70 Care Knows No Boundaries trips completed in 2025, this Banfield Foundation program continues to break down barriers to care and create healthier futures for pets in underserved communities. 🐾

A huge THANK YOU to every volunteer who gives their time and talent to make a better world for pets, and to our partners for partnering with us to make this work possible!

Time to celebrate Dude — a resilient kitty from Nebraska who recently faced a life-threatening challenge.

When Dude was first brought into Banfield Pet Hospital in Papillion for signs of illness, the team closely monitored him for signs of improvement. By his next check-up, things had taken a turn and his X-rays raised concerns about a possible foreign body causing a partial obstruction. Urgent action was needed!

Without treatment, the outlook was grim. However, thanks to our HOPE Funds program, any heartbreak was completely avoided. With this lifesaving support and the compassionate Papillion team, Dude received the critical care he needed and is now on the road to recovery. His owner is beyond grateful for the second chance this program provided! 🐾

This care was made possible through HOPE Funds, which helps income-qualifying pet owners cover the cost of emergency treatment. With support from generous donors, pets like Dude can receive critical care when it matters most.

A big thank you to the team for going above and beyond to provide expert care to pets like Dude! 🙌

Celebrating National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week! 🐶🐱

For over 10 years, Banfield Foundation has been committed to making preventive care possible for the pets that need it most. Through our programs and partnerships, we work to increase access to veterinary care in under-resourced communities across the country.

This week, we’re shining a light on the incredible shelter partners who help us fulfill that mission.

Animal shelters are more than just places where pets wait for their forever homes—they are a resource for their community. Banfield Foundation is incredibly proud to partner with animal shelters across the country to provide free or low-cost opportunities such as spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, wellness exams, and preventive care. 💉

THANK YOU to every shelter team and volunteer for your compassion to pets and a shoutout to the many shelter partners Banfield Foundation has had the honor of working with over the years! 🧡

There’s no better week than 🫶🥳🙏

Our mission of making preventive care possible for the pets that need it most is only possible because of — the literal glue that keeps a veterinary team together!

With nearly 8,000 volunteer hours alone through our Care Knows No Boundaries grant program — vet techs bring care, compassion, skills, heart and joy to every field clinic we’re part of! We are so very grateful for each of every tech — those in the photos and those who stay behind the scenes.

And a special thank you to our very own vet techs and who do this work sun up to sun down, radiating love for every pet they’ve helped and every pet owner they’ve supported. 🐐🐐

Today, and every day, thank YOU to all our vet tech volunteers for helping us make 🧡

Today, we’re taking a moment to celebrate our incredible partners at . 🐾

Banfield Foundation is proud to have donated a new mobile veterinary unit to support their lifesaving work across Texas. This unit is already on the road— expanding their community vaccine clinics and bringing veterinary services to shelter partners lacking veterinary care teams.

With a temperature-regulated space for vaccinations and microchipping, this mobile unit allows their team to serve pets safely and comfortably, even in the Texas heat. It’s a powerful tool in their mission to make of creating a kinder world for pets and the people who love them.

Since 2017, Banfield Foundation has partnered with Operation Kindness through more than $75,000 in grants, in-kind medications, disaster relief—and now a new mobile unit, building on our commitment to making preventive care possible for the pets that need it most and increasing access in underserved communities.

Thank you, Operation Kindness, for your impactful work and unwavering commitment to pets and people in the Texas community! 🧡

🌟Banfield Foundation Ambassador Spotlight 10: Dr. Stacie Kite 🌟

As we wrap up Banfield Foundation’s 10th anniversary month, we want to thank everyone who joined us in celebrating a decade of making a difference for pets and the people who love them!🐶🥳🐱

To close out this special series, we’re spotlighting our 10th incredible Foundation Ambassador whose passion and purpose shine through every volunteer moment:

Meet Dr. Stacie Kite, a dedicated veterinarian and longtime volunteer who has traveled across the country to bring care to pets in underserved communities. “Before I started volunteering, I didn’t realize the scope of the projects the Foundation supports. It’s truly amazing the impact it has had on underserved communities,” she shared.

From her first Foundation-hosted Mars Ambassador Program (MAP) trip to the San Carlos Reservation, to multiple visits to Zuni Pueblo, NM, and most recently Operation Pit Stop in Tulsa, OK, Stacie’s journey is fueled by purpose. 🩺🐾

“Volunteering to help pets really fills my bucket. It’s also made me a stronger surgeon in my hospital — seeing different cases and working with different teams has helped me fine-tune my skills. On a personal level, it refuels me. The long days are exhausting, but when I return from a trip, I’m re-energized and reminded that I can make a difference outside of my hospital.”

We’re grateful for the opportunity to make a difference for pets both inside and outside the hospitals — thanks to our many Banfield Associate volunteers! 🫶 Thank you, Stacie, for helping us close out this milestone month with heart, hope, and a whole lot of inspiration.

🧡 If you’re inspired by Stacie and want to venture out to bring your skills to pets in need, you👏sure👏can👏! If you’re a current Associate and interested in learning more, DM us!

🌟 Banfield Foundation Ambassador Spotlight 9: Callie Brown, LVT 🌟

Callie Brown loves her research, and she applied that to learning every way she could make a difference through our Banfield programs. In addition to volunteering locally through Banfield Gives Back, her first work with Banfield Foundation was a Care Knows No Boundaries grant trip.

“I researched a lot and found an opportunity in Galapagos, Ecuador. I applied for a grant, and I was ecstatic when I got the approval. I literally ran around the hospital announcing it!” she shared. “The trip was so amazing and we performed surgery for over 200 pets and also performed many consults.”

Each clinic she’s participated in has reminded her of a simple truth: pet owners everywhere are doing the best they can.
She’s also discovered how resourcefulness plays a key role in providing the best care. From learning new surgical techniques to adapting with creative tools, Callie brings these lessons back to her clinic, enriching her team and her patients.

“These experiences have helped me to keep an open mind and have allowed me to see the world and the human animal bond through many perspectives.”

These moments of connection and care have become a source of renewal for Callie, fueling her commitment to veterinary medicine and community service. It’s no wonder she encourages everyone to get involved: “If you are looking for a way to give back to the community and also shake up your same old routine a bit, this is your chance!

🧡 If you’re inspired by Callie and want to venture out to bring your skills to pets in need, you👏sure👏can👏! If you’re a current Associate and interested in learning more, DM us!

🌟 Banfield Foundation Ambassador Spotlight 8: Dr. Victoria Law, ACOS in Virginia 🌟

With more than 12 years of Banfield experience and moving frequently as a military spouse, Dr. Victoria Law has learned many life lessons. But volunteering with Banfield Foundation brought her one of the most powerful.

“I have really come to understand the importance of culturally competent care,” she explained. “Just because families don’t have financial or logistical access to care, it does not mean they love their pets any less. These experiences have helped me be more open minded in day-to-day clinical practice as well.”

During her Foundation trip to the Navajo Nation help pets and their owners, she was also moved by the generosity. “I enjoyed several homemade meals and snacks as a thank you for our help. The culture is so much about giving, and I took that home with me to continue.”

Victoria reminds us that veterinary care is not just about medicine — it’s about empathy, understanding, and connecting thru our shared desire to care.

🧡 If you’re inspired by Victoria and want to venture out to bring your skills to pets in need, you👏sure👏can👏! If you’re a current Associate and interested in learning more, DM us!

🌟 Banfield Foundation Ambassador Spotlight 7: Tori Graunke 🌟

Continuing our 10-Year Anniversary celebration by celebrating one of the Associates who has been working with us from the start! Tori’s journey with the Banfield Foundation began with a heartbreaking loss — one she’s turned into a mission to help prevent for others.

“When I was a very young pet owner, I lost my cat to something very treatable because there was no one to step in to offer even the smallest amount of financial help,” she shared. “Now I’m so grateful to be able to offer the Banfield Foundation OWPs and Hope Funds, which have kept so many people from experiencing that same loss.”

Since we began 10 years ago, Tori has been an advocate for these programs, which help pet owners in financial need cover the cost of preventive care (OWPs) and care for immediately life-threatening conditions (HOPE Funds).

What surprised her most? How accessible support really is. “I thought helping pet owners would be a long, difficult process. But even 10 years ago, it was manageable — and now it’s even easier!” ✅

Along the way, partnering with the Foundation has shifted Tori’s perspective in powerful ways. “Before, I saw the world in terms of how it affected me. Now, I start each day asking how I can put something good out into the world.”

Without a doubt, Tori has put a lot of good into the world, with the pet owners she’s helped at her Papillion, Nebraska, hospital, and by helping fellow Associates tap into these Foundation resources. 🫶

Her story reminds us that we can make a difference with the Foundation right in our own hospitals! It’s about always learning, reaching out, and seeing every opportunity to care.

🧡 If you’re inspired by Tori and want to support pet owners with Foundation OWPs and HOPE Funds, you👏sure👏can👏! DM us to learn how!
