🌳 Salmon Creek Lions Helping Grow Our Community! 🌳

On Saturday morning, February 28, members of the Salmon Creek Lions Club joined volunteers from Friends of Trees for a neighborhood tree planting in West Vancouver, WA.

Our Lions team helped plant 8 new trees on two homeowner properties, contributing to a greener, healthier community. Projects like this are a great example of what can happen when community organizations and volunteers work together to make a lasting impact.

We’re grateful for the partnership with Friends of Trees and for the homeowners who welcomed us into their yards for this project. These trees will provide beauty, shade, and environmental benefits for many years to come.

πŸ“Έ Check out a few photos from the morning!

If you enjoy hands-on community service like this, Salmon Creek Lions is always looking for new members who want to make a difference. Send us a message if you’d like to learn more about joining us.

πŸ’™πŸ’› Salmon Creek Lions Support Meals on Wheels! πŸ’›πŸ’™

At our February 26th gathering at The Park at University Village, we were honored to welcome Sheila Hanson, Fundraising and Marketing Director for Meals on Wheels.

Sheila shared powerful information about how Meals on Wheels serves seniors in our community β€” providing nutritious meals, friendly visits, and wellness checks that help older adults remain independent and connected.

Following her presentation, Lion Jack Johnson had the privilege of presenting Sheila with a check for over $1,700 to support this important work. These funds were raised through our recent community fundraising efforts and reflect the generosity of our members and supporters.

We are proud to partner with organizations like Meals on Wheels that make a meaningful difference right here in Clark County.

Thank you to everyone who helps us serve!

πŸ¦πŸ’› Lions Support the Fight Against Cancer

Cancer is one of Lions Clubs International’s global causes, and we are proud to support efforts that bring hope and healing to those facing this disease.

A local student, Ruta, is currently campaigning with Blood Cancer United to raise funds for leukemia patients who cannot afford treatment and to support ongoing leukemia research. Their goal is to raise $20,000 in five weeks.

Even more impactful β€” cash donations will be doubled through a corporate matching partnership.

If you would like to support this effort and help families battling leukemia, you can donate here:

Together, we can make a difference.

Salmon Creek Lions Club volunteers helped on Saturday at the FISH of Vancouver West Side Food Pantry Warehouse in support of the bi-monthly Green Bag food collection organized by Clark Neighbors Food Project and distributed through FISH of Vancouver.

Drivers delivered food collected from neighborhood Green Bags, and volunteers sorted and boxed donations to help ensure families throughout Clark County have access to nutritious food.

We are proud to partner with organizations making a direct impact in our community. πŸ’š

🎣 LCIF Grant Delivered – Supporting Klineline Kids Fishing Event 2026! 🎣

We’re excited to share that the $5,000 grant from Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has officially been delivered to the Klineline Kids Fishing Nonprofit!

This funding will help offset the increased cost of fishing poles for the upcoming April 2026 Klineline Kids Fishing Event, ensuring that hundreds of kids in our community have quality equipment and a memorable fishing experience.

The Salmon Creek Lions Club recently held its January General Membership Meeting at The Park at University Village in the Salmon Creek area.

We were pleased to welcome District Governor Donna Murr as our guest speaker and to spend the evening recognizing service, celebrating community involvement, and sharing updates on Lions projects that support families and youth in our region.

The meeting brought together Lions members and guests for fellowship, recognition, and discussion about ongoing service efforts that make a positive local impact β€” including support for youth activities and community programs.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it a meaningful evening of service and connection.
