In 2001 a group of short-term mission leaders from U.S.-based mission agencies, churches, and Christian colleges sensed that God was leading them to facilitate the formation of a set of STM best practices similar to codes that had been developed in the U.K. They went to work gathering input and feedback from five mission networks and more than 400 mission leaders. During a two-year process they sy

nthesized the input and developed a set of best practices. The resulting Seven Standards of Excellence that were launched in Oct. 2003 are a product of thousands of hours of work, discussion, and prayer. Empowering Partnerships
