Our Garden Party & Auction is back and we’re opening submissions for 2026.

If you’ve joined us in the past, you may remember this as an art auction. This year we’re expanding what that looks like and putting more focus on experiences and services alongside a limited number of physical art pieces.

We’re especially looking for:
• Workshops, classes, or interactive experiences
• Creative services or commissioned artwork
• Gift cards, packages, or unique offerings
• A small number of physical art pieces

This shift helps us direct more resources toward free civil legal services for neighbors navigating housing, family law, and immigration challenges, while creating a more engaging experience for attendees.

Want to be part of it? Submit your item through this link: https://form.jotform.com/231148466903155

Know a creative or business who should be involved? Share this with them!

Happy Friday ☀️ It’s going to be a beautiful weekend to get outside and enjoy it.

All month long, you can support access to justice just by stopping by Loowit Brewing Company (downtown). Throughout April, Loowit is hosting a round up campaign benefiting CCVLP. Just round up your tab and those extra cents go directly toward supporting our community.

It is a simple way to build stability, opportunity, and access together.

If you are out enjoying the sunshine this weekend, consider grabbing a pint or a pretzel and rounding up for justice 🍻

Washington is taking an important step to ensure our laws reflect clarity, accuracy, and dignity ⚖️

Governor Bob Ferguson has signed HB 2632 into law, updating outdated terminology in state statutes by replacing the term “alien” with “noncitizen” or other context-appropriate language.

This legislation reflects a collaborative effort among legislators, legal practitioners, and community advocates to modernize statutory language while preserving legal meaning. It affirms Washington’s commitment to fairness, precision, and equal protection under the law.

We are so proud of CCVLP Co-Director and co-chair of the Undocumented Communities Committee, Elizabeth Fitzgearld, who helped lead this effort. Her work, alongside partners across the state, ensured this update strengthens both legal clarity and respect for all Washingtonians.

HB 2632 officially takes effect June 11, 2026. 👏🏿👏🏽👏🏻
