StorySpark Collective and Called to Love invite you to a powerful gathering dedicated to profound truth-telling, deep empathy, and active community healing.

Event Details:

The Film: “1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture” follows the journey of tireless researchers who traced the origins of the anti-gay movement back to a specific mistranslation in the 1946 Revised Standard Version of the Bible. Chronicling the discovery of never-before-seen archives, the film challenges deeply held assumptions and opens a new door for understanding and inclusion.

The Dialogue: A live Q&A panel featuring local Christian and LGBTQ+ leaders.

The Moment: A public apology from members of the local Christian community, marking an intentional step toward healing historical divides and building a more inclusive future.

Twilight on Klickitat Street: An Earth Day Evening

As the sun sets, join the StorySpark Collective for an enchanting evening that blends the nostalgic charm of Beverly Cleary’s world with a commitment to our planet’s future. This isn't just an Earth Day event; it’s a celebration of community, resourcefulness, and the simple joys of a neighborhood night.

Evening Highlights:

Lanterns & Lit: Wander through our garden illuminated by upcycled tin-can lanterns. We’ll have "campfire" storytelling sessions featuring classic excerpts from Ramona the Pest and Dear Mr. Henshaw.

The "Paper Bag" Fashion Show: In honor of Ramona’s flair for the dramatic, guests are invited to wear a "recycled accessory." Best use of cardboard or old newsprint wins a prize!

Sustainable S'mores & Cider: Enjoy locally sourced treats around our low-impact "fire pits." We’re aiming for Zero-Waste, so bring your favorite reusable mug!

Starry Night Seed Bombs: A twilight workshop where we’ll roll wildflower seeds into "bombs" to be planted the following morning, ensuring our neighborhood stays green for the "Henry Huggins" of tomorrow.
