We had a lot of fun yesterday, July 4th, with the Repeater Contest sponsored by PARC (Portland Amateur Radio Club)! It was 1000-1300 local time. PARC arranged for 6 local repeaters to be used, four 2M and two 70CM repeaters that belonged to PARC and Hoodview ARC. The repeaters were located on Larch Mt (WA), Mt Scott and Mt Hebo which is located south of Tillamook in the coast range. I was able to hit 5 of the repeaters from a triband antenna inside the room where I was transmitting from. Mt Hebo UHF was out of my range. I was using my Anytone HT at 7W so I had to claim "high power" and not QRP! đŸ˜‚.

Some of our club members I heard/QSO'd were Dan, W7DFC, and Tracy (KK7TLL). There was even a grandfather who had his two granddaughters operating his radio! He said they were having a blast! I think it was a very enjoyable experience for all of us!
