Our biggest fundraiser of the year is almost here: GiveMore24! Thursday, September 24th will kickoff 24 hours of giving to nonprofits in SW Washington, coordinated by our friends Greater Vancouver Chamber.

Early giving will open on September 8th, so stay tuned for more details - matching grants to double the power of your giving, moving stories about the impact our supporters have on clients, and as always, working together as a community to get food to those in need.

Before & After: new coolers and freezers have landed at FISH! 🎉💙

Thanks to some amazing grants and donations (including the amazing team at Sundt), we were able to purchase new coolers and freezers to keep food fresh & safe for clients. Our staff have been looking forward to this for weeks - and we had some amazing volunteers show up early today to get them all stocked up for clients!

The kindness of neighbors in action! Over the weekend, one of our tents decided to fly the nest and landed over our fence on the sidewalk. Instead of just walking by, two neighbors - who didn’t even know each other - leapt into action, folding it up and putting it against our fence for safe keeping. When our staff came in this morning, we looked at our camera footage and were so touched by this act of kindness.

We’ve always said that feeding the community takes a village not just working together, but caring for one another. A tent may be a simple piece of equipment, but because of these lovely community members we can continue to help keep clients shaded on hot, sunny days. A big thanks to these two folks for showing what community means!

Save the date! The DSHS Mobile Services Office is headed to FISH on Wednesday, September 9th from 10 AM - 2 PM. They will be in the lot across the street by the Clark County Veterans Assistance Center, and can assist will all kinds of resources! This month we received a massive gift of shelf-stable foods from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We expected 21 pallets - but they went above and beyond and showed up with 26!

The local LDS team Roger, Verne, and Lori came to tour our facility in advance of the delivery to see how the church's generous gift will make a difference to those here in our shared community.

This donation is such a blessing for our clients which will impact not only the people who shop now - but those in need in the future as well.

Also, a HUGE shout out to our warehouse team Arthur & Brian, who spent weeks consolidating & rearranging our warehouse to make room for this delivery. They did such an amazing job that the five extra pallets were no problem! 💪
