We're so grateful to our Store volunteers who help with various tasks around the store like processing donated items, organizing, building fixtures, and more. They truly help us create such a positive experience for our shoppers, and part of the shared vision that everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home!

This month is Volunteer Appreciation Month, though we appreciate our volunteers every single day! Without our volunteers, our work could not have the impact that it does here in Clark County.

Every hour spent swinging a hammer, painting, processing donated items at the Stores, helping our events, and sharing the stories of Evergreen Habitat, is an unmeasureable value in what we do. It perfectly demonstrates what we can do when we band together in a shared cause, driven by our hearts and working hands.

To our amazing volunteers, thank you for being part of our vision where everyone has a safe place to call home!

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of long time Habitat supporter and volunteer, Rev. Dr. Bruce Armstrong. Bruce was a dedicated volunteer serving on our board of directors from 2012-2017, traveling to Guatemala with us in 2017, and serving as our Interim Executive Director in 2018. Bruce cared deeply for his community, bringing joy and hope to those around him. His passion and love were easy to see in his cheerful disposition and willingness to step up to help his neighbor. Bruce will be greatly missed but we take comfort in seeing his legacy and memory in the homes and communities he built with Habitat. Thank you for your service, Bruce.

International Women’s Day has been around for over a hundred years as a response to the many issues that still impact women.
One of the many inequities that women face is in housing. Women disproportionally face economic insecurity, which directly effects their ability to afford housing.

This International Women’s Day, support women in housing by donating, volunteering, and advocating for affordable homeownership!

Habitat’s Women Build program brings together women and their allies to raise funds to build homes and educate and empower women in construction.

If you’d like to make an impact for women in housing, donate in honor of International Women’s Day or get involved with Women Build!

Karla and Ana’s friendship demonstrates not just the impact of friendship, but how one decision creates a ripple effect in our local community.

Ana is a Habitat homeowner who purchased her home in 2019, where she and her family now reside. “The house we lived in before, it was a little mobile home,” said Ana. She and her family went through our homeownership program and were pleasantly surprised to learn that they qualified. “Now that we have this home, life is beautiful!”

When Ana met Karla, she told Karla about the Habitat homeownership program and encouraged Karla to apply to purchase a home in the Johnson Village neighborhood. Despite her uncertainty, Karla continued to pursue the dream of homeownership, and bought her home in 2024. “The dream is coming true, it’s real!” Karla cheered. “I always say two things: Habitat is my new family, and she is my angel," she said while embracing her friend, Ana.
