Our hearts remain heavy as our community continues to mourn the tragic loss of 11 hardworking men whose lives were taken far too soon.

Yesterday, the final two individuals were recovered, bringing closure to the search and allowing us to honor every life lost:

These were fathers, sons, brothers, husbands, friends, coworkers, and community members. They were hardworking men who showed up every day to provide for their families and build a better future.

As a community, we grieve with their loved ones. We also honor their lives, their work, and the impact they made on those around them. In our culture, we believe that those we love are never truly gone as long as they are remembered. Their names, stories, and legacies will continue to live on through the people who loved them.

Nippon Dynaware Packaging Press Conference Update

Nuestros pensamientos están con todas las personas afectadas por el incidente industrial ocurrido hoy en Nippon Dynawave Packaging en Longview.

Según un comunicado conjunto de Nippon Dynawave Packaging, el Departamento de Bomberos de Longview, la Ciudad de Longview, Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue y la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Cowlitz, los equipos de emergencia continúan trabajando en el lugar después de la ruptura de un tanque que contenía “white liquor” alrededor de las 7:15 a.m. del martes.

Las autoridades confirmaron múltiples lesiones críticas y fatalidades relacionadas con el incidente. Las personas heridas fueron trasladadas a hospitales en Longview y Vancouver para recibir tratamiento. No se ha dado a conocer información de identificación mientras se notifica a las familias.

Las autoridades informaron que actualmente no existe una amenaza inmediata para la comunidad, pero pidieron al público mantenerse alejado del área mientras continúan las labores de recuperación e investigación.

Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by today’s industrial incident at Nippon Dynawave Packaging in Longview.

According to a joint statement from Nippon Dynawave Packaging, Longview Fire Department, the City of Longview, Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue, and the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders remain on scene following the rupture of a tank containing white liquor around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Officials confirmed multiple critical injuries and fatalities related to the incident. Patients were transported to hospitals in Longview and Vancouver for treatment. No identifying information has been released at this time pending notification of family members.

Authorities state there is currently no immediate threat to the surrounding community, but are asking the public to stay clear of the area while recovery and investigation efforts continue.
