Do to unforseen circumstances of the stairs, to the train overpass into town being removed to accommodate a new overpass being built. Our tradition of the skippers dinner at the Lucky Dragon in Kalama was foiled. So trying to make the best of a bad situation, we had to settle begrudgingly for McMenamins Kalama Harbor Lodge

Day 6 St. Helens OR. To Kalama WA.
Today's destination was only about an hour away so each youth did anchoring ⚓️ training.
After arriving/docking in Kalama we were nicely asked to move due to safety. As they set this piling. It was VERY loud. It's so crazy to see how far under ground these go.

Day 5 Camas WA. To St. Helens OR
The youth & adults 🤔🤣 did amazing with touch and go docking drills as well as emergency steering exercises. After doing a few maneuvers we safely made it under the I-205 bridge. There was a lot of river traffic today. I was grateful my daughter was able to take me to the store for some ice and essentials and we got a great surprise when a past Quartermaster from Sunsail arrived with ice cream for the ship!

The youth did a great job locking through Bonneville Dam. Following tradition they left a momento of their visit through the dam.
