Helping People Recognize “Greatness Lies Within You”

My Story: God’s Classroom in the Hard Seasons is Pastor Rev. Damion Young’s personal testimony of faith, perseverance, and transformation through homelessness, health challenges, financial hardship, and the journey of church planting. Through every trial, he discovered that God’s presence is often most evident in life’s hardest seasons. This inspiring story reveals how Jesus used adversity to shape his character, strengthen his faith, and birth a vision to help others recognize that greatness lies within them through the transformative power of Christ.

The most dangerous lie a leader can believe is that God’s silence means God’s absence.

Some of the hardest seasons in life are not marked by failure.

They’re marked by waiting.

Praying…
Trusting…
Serving…
Showing up…

And wondering if God is still moving.

But throughout Scripture, God often did His deepest work in seasons that felt silent.

Joseph experienced silence before the palace.

David experienced silence before the throne.

Moses experienced silence in the wilderness.

Even Jesus experienced silence in the tomb before resurrection morning.

Silence does not mean God has stopped working.

Silence often means God is working beneath the surface where roots are being strengthened before fruit is revealed.

If you’re in a hard season today, don’t confuse God’s quietness with God’s absence.

The same God who promised to be with you yesterday is with you today.

Keep praying.
Keep trusting.
Keep walking.

God hasn’t left the conversation.

Prayer is not a spare tire you pull out during emergencies.

Prayer is the steering wheel that guides your life every day.

This Sunday, we explored Psalm 23 and discovered that intimacy with God grows through trust, surrender, and daily fellowship with our Shepherd.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”

If you’re exploring faith, searching for purpose, or looking to grow closer to God, there’s a place for you at Seeds of Greatness Ministries.

Some people have never experienced emotional safety.

Not because they don’t want love…
but because they’ve never been taught how to open up without fear.

This week we’re exploring emotional intimacy:
the conversations, vulnerability, healing, and connection that create healthy relationships and healthy community.

You are invited to explore with us.

DAY 3 🌱
HIS THOUGHTS ARE ALREADY AT WORK

📖 Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV)

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD…”

Sometimes the silence feels heavy.

The prayer hasn’t been answered.
The door still hasn’t opened.
The timeline keeps shifting.

And if we’re honest…
it can feel like God is distant.

But Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of something powerful:

God is already thinking about you.

Not eventually.
Not someday.
Now.

The Hebrew word used for “thoughts” is machashabah —
a coordinated plan.
A purposeful design.
A strategy too large for us to fully see all at once.

While you are worrying…
God is working.

While you are questioning…
He is aligning.

While you are waiting…
He is building an expected end filled with peace, wholeness, and purpose.

The silence is not absence.
It is the sound of Heaven designing something bigger than your perspective.

🌿 REFLECT:
How would your posture change today if you truly believed God was already working on your behalf right now?

🙏🏽 PRAYER:
Lord,
thank You that Your thoughts toward me are already active.
I am not forgotten.
I am not outside Your design.
Help me trust what You are building even when I cannot fully see it yet.
Align my faith with Your peace.
Amen.

Trade Up — Your Thoughts for His
Day 2 · The Higher Way · 5-Day Devotional Series

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

The great divide is not a permanent separation — it is an invitation to a trade.
Proverbs 3:5 makes the terms explicit: stop leaning on your own understanding and start leaning on His. But this is not passive. The word “lean” in Hebrew is shaan (H-8172) — to support yourself on, to put full weight upon. Like a person resting their entire body against a wall, trusting it completely to hold. This is not casual agreement with God. It is full-weight dependence.
The trade is not: give up your mind. It is: give your mind a better foundation.
Yesterday we established that the gap between God’s thoughts and yours is not a problem — it is a protection. Today we go a step further: that gap is also an opportunity. Every time you choose His way over your calculation, you are trading up. Trading the street-level view for the satellite perspective. Trading the limited map for the One who designed the territory. Trading a plan built on what you can see for a plan built on what He has already prepared.
This is what Isaiah 55:8-9 is really offering. Not just the information that His ways are higher — but the invitation to live from that higher elevation. The trade is always in your favor.
God is not asking you to stop thinking. He is asking you to acknowledge Him in your thinking. In all your ways — your plans, your decisions, your timelines, your methods. In all of them, bring Him in. And He will direct your path. Not suggest it. Direct it.

REFLECT: What specific plan, timeline, or solution are you currently leaning on that needs to be surrendered to God’s higher design? Where is your shaan — your weight — resting right now?

PRAYER: Father, I release my plan. I release my timeline. I release my method. I am done leaning on my own understanding in this area: [speak it aloud]. I am trading the map I drew for the direction You provide. In all my ways today, I acknowledge You. Lead me in Your higher w

Some things don’t need more effort.

Most people think burnout comes from lack of discipline.

But what if the real issue is lack of structure?

Too many builders are:

* carrying vision without systems
* managing pressure manually
* moving constantly without alignment
* producing without support

That creates exhaustion.

Fragmentation.

Survival mode.

You are not broken.

You may simply be unsupported.

Genesis shows us that God established structure before multiplication.

Light before life.
Order before movement.
Environment before fruit.

Healthy growth has always required intentional architecture.

Some things don’t need more effort.

They need infrastructure.

Something is being built.

Follow the whisper.

🏙 KAIROS — MORNING DEVOTION

THE HIGHER WAY — DAY 1 🌆

“The Gap Is Not a Problem — It’s a Protection.”

📖 Isaiah 55:8–9

Sometimes the hardest thing to trust is the distance between what we expected God to do… and what He’s actually doing.

We think:
• the delay means denial
• the silence means abandonment
• the closed door means rejection

But what if the gap is actually mercy?

What if God sees:
• the danger you avoided
• the healing still happening
• the timing you don’t understand
• the version of you He’s preparing

God’s thoughts are higher than your fears.
His vision is deeper than your perspective.

The gap is where trust is born.

So this morning:
Don’t force your understanding onto Heaven’s process.

Trust the distance.

🎙 “The gap is not punishment.
It’s preparation.”

🙏🏽 PRAYER

Lord,
I surrender my need to understand before I trust.
Your thoughts are higher.
Your ways are greater.
Teach me to stand in the gap with faith and not frustration.
You see what I cannot.
Today, I trust the distance.
Amen.

Most men are not collapsing from lack of effort.

They’re collapsing from living outside God’s original design.

God built 7 systems for flourishing:
• Identity
• Purpose
• Provision
• Relationships
• Rhythm
• Accountability
• Rest

But society replaced them with:
performance, hustle, urgency, isolation, and burnout.

Genesis ends in:
REST.

Not anxiety.
Not endless production.
Not survival mode.

REST.

The Kingdom pattern is:
ABIDE → RECEIVE → BUILD → REST → REPEAT

Flourishing is not accidental.
It is architected through alignment with God’s design.
