There is a lot of wrong information going around, so we want to tell you the truth. Please do not spread misinformation! Spreading wrong information really hurts the Deaf community.

Here is what is actually happening:

No Funding from ODHH: We want to make this very clear—we get no money from Washington State ODHH anymore. In 2024, ODHH cut all contracts for all nonprofits across the state. Many other nonprofits had to close down.

We Are Still Alive: While other places closed, DeafCenter is still open! But we have to raise money in a new way.

Donny's Dogs: We started Donny's Dogs to make money to save DeafCenter.

Clubs for Everyone: We are running lots of fun clubs so the Deaf community can hang out together!

Current Clubs: Poker, Bingo, ASL Game Nights, and Senior Citizens Gatherings.

Coming Soon: ASL Classes, LEGO Club, 3D Printing Club, Sports Card Trading Club, Movie Nights, Football Fun (including Fantasy Football), TV Watch Parties, Knitting Club, and more!

This Center Belongs to You: DeafCenter belongs to our community, so we are working hard to keep it open.

To stay alive, we rely entirely on revenue from Donny's Dogs, donations, and wonderful volunteers.

Without Donny's Dogs, our volunteers, and your support, DeafCenter would have to close. Please come, volunteer, donate, and help us keep DeafCenter open and operating!
