Our Vancouver Together Women Rise gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 8 at 5:30 pm for potluck and dinner. Tracy Reilly Kelly will present Asia Initiatives in India which uses Social Capital Credits (SoCCs), an innovative developmental platform, to incentivize acts of social good such as caring for community spaces, planting kitchen gardens, etc. in exchange for goods and services such as agricultural skill development, access to crops, and equipment. The January event focuses on Clean Start Africa. Our grant will fund an economic empowerment program designed to provide sustainable economic opportunities and dignity to women transitioning out of prison in Kenya. Most of the women are poor, illiterate, single mothers, and the sole breadwinners of their families. The program addresses systemic socio-economic injustices and inequalities that contribute to the incarceration and recidivism of these vulnerable women. We will discuss
