Congratulations on your promotion, Sergeant Madura!

At Tuesday's Explorer meeting, Explorer Madura was promoted to the rank of Explorer Sergeant.

Sgt. Madura has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the Explorer Program. Since joining, she has not missed a single meeting, training, or event. Her dedication, reliability, and positive attitude have made her a valued member of our team.

Beyond her attendance, Sgt. Madura consistently leads by example. She is always willing to step up, take initiative, and assist fellow Explorers whenever needed. Her professionalism, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence have earned the respect of both her peers and advisors.

Effective leaders inspire others through their actions, and Sgt. Madura does exactly that. She sets a high standard for those around her, encourages teamwork, and demonstrates the qualities we strive to develop in all of our Explorers.

We are proud of all that she has accomplished and look forward to seeing her continue to grow as a leader within the program. Congratulations, Sgt. Madura, on this well-deserved promotion!

Many of our Explorers serve their communities in more ways than one. In addition to volunteering at the Sheriff's Office community events, many are involved in programs that further develop their leadership, discipline, and commitment to service.

Explorer Aidan Shoote and Explorer Malakhi Emerson are members of the Battle Ground High School JROTC program. This past weekend, they participated in the military tradition known as the Pass in Review ceremony, where the unit's readiness, discipline, appearance, and drill proficiency are inspected by the incoming commander, senior officials, and distinguished guests.

The Pass in Review is a proud tradition that reflects the hard work, dedication, and professionalism of the cadets who participate.

We are proud of Aidan and Malakhi for representing both their JROTC program and our Explorer Program with excellence. Their commitment to service, leadership, and personal growth is a great example of what it means to be an Explorer.

Well done, Explorers/Cadets! Keep up the outstanding work.

Today we had a great time directing traffic and helping the Hockinson Fun Days Parade. This is one of our favorite events of the year. We are grateful to be a part of this community event.

Saturday, our CCSO Explorers helped make the 60th Annual Hazel Dell Parade a success! πŸŽ‰β˜”

Our Explorers secured the parking area for the band pickup location, ensuring participants had a safe place to gather at the end of the parade. They successfully parked 49 buses in a very tight lot while helping manage traffic and keeping the drop-off area safe for students and bus drivers.

And to make the day even more memorable… it poured rain on us! 🌧️ Despite the wet weather, our Explorers stayed positive, worked hard, and handled their responsibilities with professionalism and teamwork.

This was a big responsibility, and they did an outstanding job serving the community. Well done, everyone β€” we’re proud of your dedication and commitment! πŸ‘πŸšπŸš“

From Explorer to Officer β€” Full Circle Moment! πŸš”βœ¨ What an awesome reunion! Officer Stotz, now serving proudly with the Tacoma Police Department, stopped to visit with the Clark County Sheriff Explorers at the Patrol Days Competition back in April. Officer Stotz was part of the Clark County Sheriff Explorer Program from 2014 to 2016, and it’s inspiring to see how his journey has come full circle β€” from learning the ropes as an Explorer to wearing the badge as a police officer. Moments like these remind us that mentorship, dedication, and community service truly come full circle. πŸ‘

Congratulations to our very own Detective DuWayne Layton on being the WLEEA Explorer Advisor of the Year for 2025, a well-deserved honor! Between bi-weekly meetings with the Explorers, community service events, the Patrol Days competition, and running the Basic Explorer Academy each August and December for MANY years, DuWayne has dedicated thousands of hours to the youth of our community over the last 9 years. Thank you for your unwavering service.

Our CCSO Explorers had an amazing time helping at the Citizens Academy today!

From attending an outstanding use-of-force class, role-playing in scenarios, and assisting with loading magazines during live-fire drills, learning about the use of tasers, to getting hands-on experience with handguns, rifles, pepper ball launchers, and the 40mm less-lethal platform β€” it was a full day of learning and teamwork.

These opportunities give our Explorers valuable insight into law enforcement training while building confidence, leadership, and real-world skills.
We were grateful for the opportunity to help out and learn from great CCSO Deputies.
