On July 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will mark a special moment in the history of Vancouver Barracks as we replace the current post flag with the historic Garrison Flag. The Garrison Flag will proudly fly over the parade ground throughout Independence Day Weekend.

National Park Service staff, dedicated volunteers, community members, Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Friends of Fort Vancouver will come together to raise this iconic flag, which once flew over military posts throughout the American frontier. The ceremony honors the rich military heritage of Vancouver Barracks and the generations of soldiers who served here.
