Don't miss June's FREE EC Seminar on "Developing a Marketing & Sales Plan" THIS Thur, June 11th, from 7-8AM Pacific, online.

Our E-Community Seminar has been a staple of the Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community since its founding. As an organization with the mission to build Kingdom businesses globally, it is important to us to provide members of our community with opportunities to learn and to grow as Biblical Entrepreneurs so that they can be effective in the marketplace.

Marketing & Sales are the engines that drive business growth. You can have a great product or service, but without an effective marketing and sales strategy, achieving sustainable success can be difficult. At Nehemiah, we define marketing and sales as sowing and reaping. Sowing is planting seeds that prepare for future growth, while reaping is gathering the harvest produced by those seeds. Marketing focuses on the future, while sales focus on the present.

A successful business requires both consistent sowing and effective reaping. Understanding how these two functions work together can help entrepreneurs create a steady pipeline of opportunities, build stronger customer relationships, and generate sustainable revenue growth.

In this seminar, you will learn:
* The difference between marketing and sales, and why both are essential
* How to develop an effective marketing and sales plan for your business
* How to start sowing the right seeds today for future business growth

We are glad to have Brian Buhler, Training and Coaching Director of Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community, as the speaker of the seminar. You won't want to miss it!

Are you called to lead?
Are you an effective leader?
How can you improve your effectiveness as a leader?

"Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.” Exodus 18: 18-19 (NKJV)

The success of every family, business, and government depends upon its leadership. The rise and fall of any institution or organization depends upon the quality of its leadership. Leadership is vital in every area of life; there can never be too much written about it, because there is always more to learn.

There are two types of leaders: those who are born as leaders, and those who have learned to lead. Though there are very few who are naturally born to lead, most individuals are in a position of leadership to some extent. Some of these leadership roles include parent, grandparent, elder sibling, committee leader, head of a business or organization, supervisor or manager, etc. If we find ourselves in any of these positions, we must take the responsibility to learn how to lead those who are depending upon our guidance. When leaders lack natural leadership ability, they must rely on the grace of leadership. This grace is God’s strength, empowering us to lead effectively despite our own inadequacies.

There is a clear distinction between a leader and a manager. Management is about taking care of the present, while leadership is about inspiring others towards future possibilities. You cannot be an effective manager without some leadership skills, and you cannot be an effective leader without management skills.

Like Moses, Biblical Entrepreneurs are called to lead our families, our employees, our customers, and our communities out of the bo***ge of an economic system that places money above God; greed above love; and profits above people, and into a paradigm that recognizes God as the owner and sovereign ruler of the universe.

Godly leaders, through their example, will teach us that we all – whatever our position – are God’s stewards, and that we must give Him an account for our service to humanity, and our handling of His resources. This involves the leader expanding their own capacity, and the capacity of those entrusted to them, to perform their leadership and stewardship roles with ever-increasing excellence.

Therefore, just as Jethro reminded Moses, we must also be reminded that we cannot fulfill our vision by ourselves. We must inspire the people around us to work with us to realize the vision the Lord has laid on our hearts.

Leadership is the ability to cast a clear vision and provide direction and guidance to others through your example and influence. If you are going to lead effectively, there are four basic principles that must be consistently demonstrated in the life of the leader.

These 4 leadership defining principles are :
1. Service - Serving involves considering the needs of others before your own. All effective leadership begins with service. Every leader is a servant, but every servant is not necessarily a leader. The distinction between a leader and a servant is that a servant is only responsible to fulfil an assignment or project, whereas a leader must not only serve, but also assume the position of authority and the responsibility of oversight. Faithful service leads to greater responsibilities.

2. Responsibility - To lead responsibly is to serve honorably, without exercising heavy-handed authority or projecting prideful superiority and oversight. Effective leaders do not need continual on-site supervision, because they are always mindful of, and diligent toward, the responsibilities that have been bestowed upon them. Because success brings growth, if a responsible leader is going to continue to be effective, then they must learn to delegate.

3. Delegation - Delegation means transferring the control and authority of an assignment to someone else, while still maintaining your own leadership responsibility. A responsible leader must be able to delegate effectively to ensure that tasks are completed to the required standards and within the set time frames. However, delegation is not the relinquishing of a leader’s responsibility. A leader cannot delegate something that they have not taken responsibility for. Delegation does not release the leader from their responsibilities – it leads to accountability.

4. Accountability - To be accountable is to assume responsibility to achieve certain goals and provide ongoing reports on the status of those goals. Everyone is accountable to someone else. Effective leaders must give an account for their actions, and they must also receive an account from those who report to them. Without proper accountability, projects remain incomplete, and goals will not be met.

Are You Running Your Business, or Is Your Business Running You?

Look closely at your calendar over the past 30 days. Be ruthlessly honest with yourself: when was the exact moment you felt closest to burnout? If you haven’t taken a continuous 24-hour break from emails, client phone calls, and business operations in the last week, what specific fear is keeping you chained to your phone?

As Kingdom business stewards, it is easy to fall into the “Ownership Myth”—the secret, heavy belief that we are the ultimate sustainers of our businesses and that everything will fall apart if we step away. But a true Kingdom entrepreneur recognizes a foundational truth: a broken home cannot be compensated for by a successful corporate balance sheet.

To protect your health, your family, and your calling, you must transition from an anxious owner to a faithful steward who trusts God’s provision. The ultimate physical manifestation of prioritizing the Kingdom over performance is the practice of a Biblical Sabbath.

Burnout isn’t a one-size-fits-all problem; it evolves as your business grows.

Within the Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community, we track the Nehemiah Business Life Cycle to help you identify stage-specific strategic pitfalls:
* Breakeven Stage (The “Survival Overwork” Trap): Cash flow is fragile, and you are likely handling production, marketing, and accounting all at once. The fear of missing a single sale makes stopping feel fatal.
* The Shift: Build baseline operational checklists so your business can safely freeze for 24 hours without collapsing. Sabbath here is a declaration of dependency on God.
* Profitability Stage (The “Gold Rush” Exhaustion): Money is finally coming in, and you are tempted to work around the clock to capture every market dollar out of greed or fear that the revenue won’t last.
* The Shift: Implement margin ceilings and manage cash reserves so you do not trade your health or family for temporary financial windfalls.
* Sustainability Stage (The “SOP & Delegation” Bottleneck): Your business is stable, but everything still relies on your personal decisions because Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aren’t optimized or trusted. You are burning out by putting out fires.
* The Shift: Empower a management tier (like a Director of Operations) and automate your tech stacks so you can step away completely.
* Scalability Stage (The “Exponential Friction” Burden): You are regionalizing, nationalizing, or launching pilots. The sheer complexity of capital requirements and team growth creates intense psychological weight.
* The Shift: Position rest as a competitive advantage. A fatigued brain cannot make high-risk, high-reward scaling calculations accurately.
* Succession & Exit Stage (The “Identity Crisis” Fatigue): You are preparing to hand off the business, leading to emotional exhaustion, legal overload, and anxiety over losing an identity tied to your work.
* The Shift: Use the Sabbath to decouple your personal identity from the corporate balance sheet, practicing the art of “letting go”.

This content is taken from the monthly education session of the Business Success Accelerator (BSA) Group Coaching program. To learn more about BSA, see https://nehemiahecommunity.com/business-success-accelerator/

Moving from concept to operational reality requires firm boundaries. This week, we challenge you to implement The Digital Fast Experiment:
1. Draft a Sabbath Declaration: Define your exact, continuous 24-hour Sabbath window (e.g., Friday 6:00 PM to Saturday 6:00 PM).
2. Automate Communications: Set up an out-of-office response that honors your boundaries: “Our team is resting and honoring a Biblical Sabbath. We will return all inquiries with excellence starting Monday morning.”
3. Lock It Away: For the next two weeks, place your work phone, laptop, and access to company metrics inside a physical drawer or box during your designated Sabbath hours. No exceptions.

Use this time not for passive exhaustion (sleeping all day from sheer depletion), but for proactive life cultivation—worshiping, playing with your children, and dating your spouse. Let your family learn to love the Sabbath because it returns your presence, attention, and joy back to them.

How well do you handle tough times?
Do you mask fear and doubt with drugs, alcohol, or overeating?
Do you bite your nails or smoke ci******es?
Or do you lash out at others?
Did Jesus face tough times, and if so, how did He handle them?
Would you like to handle your own tough times more in line with the way that Christ handled His?

"He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will” Matthew 26:39 (NKJV)

12 Leadership Defining Moments

As a leader, your journey is full of moments when you will feel personally tested and challenged by life’s circumstances. In those moments, you can either experience the greatest growth of character, or you can compromise the very values you stand for. These are your defining moments as a leader. They are the lessons that will ultimately qualify or disqualify you, because the decisions that you make during these moments will set you apart, one way or the other, from everyone else. These are the moments when your true, inner values will speak the loudest.

As a Biblical Entrepreneur, you are an ambassador of Jesus Christ in the marketplace. You must recognize your leadership position, and once you have, you must also recognize the defining moments of your journey that are designed to test and refine your character. Pay close attention to them, so that you learn what you need to learn from each and every one of them.

Let’s look at the 12 defining moments that Jesus faced and see how He dealt with them, so that we can apply the same lessons to our own lives.

1. Moments of temptation: Luke 4:1-13 – When the lust of your eyes, the lust of your flesh, and the pride of life entice you to wrongful actions.
2. Moments of rejection: Luke 4:23-30 – When you feel dismissed or unaccepted.
3. Moments of limited resources: Matthew 14:15-21– When your needs are greater than what you have available to accomplish your objectives.
4. Moments of isolation: Matthew 27:46 – When you feel lonely, isolated, and separated from those whom you love and depend upon the most.
5. Moments of disappointment: John 6:66-67– When others have let you down.
6. Moments of personal loss: John 11:35 – When you lose someone or something dear to your heart.
7. Moments of betrayal: Luke 22:47-62 – When those whom you trust the most
turn against you.
8. Moments of abuse: Matthew 27:32-44 – When you feel misused and mistreated.
9. Moments of accusation: John 18:28-40 – When you are wrongfully charged with doing something wrong or illegal.
10. Moments of inadequacy: Matthew 26:38-39 – When you feel unable to carry out the task or mission that is set before you.
11. Moments of anger: Matthew 21:12-13 – When you feel strongly annoyed or displeased.
12. Moments of great accomplishments: Luke 10:20 – When all that you have worked for yields success, and the temptation then arises to acknowledge your own abilities, resources, or personal successes rather than God’s, and to rely upon your own strength rather than His.

All leaders will face most, if not all, of these moments at some stage during their leadership journey. For the entrepreneur, the challenges may come during the early phases of the business when you are trying to prove your concept.

Or, the challenges may occur during the growth phase when you are overwhelmed by demands upon your time. Perhaps these moments will appear during the later phases, when you have already attained some of your goals and achieved a measure of financial success.

You may even wonder why you are still facing these challenges when you have already “made it”.

When Jesus faced these moments, He deployed the same strategy every time: He turned to His Heavenly Father. He always trusted Him and relied upon Him for protection and complete provision.

Jesus’ primary response to hardship wasn’t to use His own power to “fix” circumstances, but rather to deepen His connection with His Father.

Defining moments of leadership are God-given opportunities for spiritual growth and renewal.

These are the moments when God humbles us, and when we must learn to rely completely upon Him.

When we do, we will find that God will begin to reveal the solutions to the challenges that we are facing.

These are moments of great opportunity to grow and to demonstrate our integrity.

When was the last time you had a leadership-defining moment?

Did you recognize it as such?

How did you handle it?

Our prayer for you is that God will give you the wisdom to identify the leadership-defining moments in your life. May God also give you the grace to see and use these moments as growth opportunities as you allow Him to work in your life, transforming you into His image and likeness.

Building Kingdom Impact Across Asia - Highlights from the 2026 Nehemiah Best Practice Business Tour & Conference

The 2026 Nehemiah Best Practice Tour & Conference in Asia brought together Christian entrepreneurs, business leaders, innovators, and Kingdom-minded professionals from around the world for a transformative week across Penang and Singapore from May 13 to 19, 2026. Organized by the Nehemiah Entrepreneurship Community, the event was designed to equip, inspire, and connect leaders with proven strategies for building sustainable, scalable, and impactful businesses.

More than just a conference, the week became a powerful immersion into Kingdom business best practices, cross-cultural collaboration, leadership development, and meaningful fellowship. From networking sessions and company tours to insightful teachings and strategic partnerships, every gathering reflected the heart of building businesses that create both economic and Kingdom impact.

Connect Meeting | May 13, 2026

The Connect Meeting officially kicked off the 2026 Nehemiah Best Practice Tour & Conference in Asia at Precious Pages Resources in Penang, where delegates from different nations gathered for an evening of fellowship, networking, and dinner together. Poh Sim Saw and Patrice Tsague welcomed participants and shared a briefing on what to expect throughout the week, highlighting the vision for Kingdom business growth, leadership development, and global collaboration.

During the evening, Andy Lim introduced participants to the business and cultural landscape of Asia and Malaysia, while Datin Josephine Yoong shared the inspiring story behind Precious Pages Resources and the ministries they are involved in impacting families and communities. The gathering created a meaningful start to the week by fostering connection, encouragement, and shared purpose among Kingdom-minded leaders.

Business Tour in Penang | May 14, 2026

Participants embarked on an insightful Business Tour in Penang, beginning with a visit to Pentamaster, where delegates were introduced to the company’s innovative work in automation and advanced technology solutions. The group later visited and toured Wesley Methodist International School, gaining valuable perspectives on leadership, education, and the integration of strong values within academic excellence.

The day also featured a special sharing session by Sim Tze Tzin, Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), alongside a presentation by Melvin Ong on Karuna (Sarawak) Enterprise Sdn Bhd. Participants also attended an engaging forum panel titled “The Dragon Rises – China as a Global Superpower,” featuring Stephen Lai, Dato’ SK Chong, and Melvin Ong. The discussion explored China’s growing global influence, international business opportunities, economic trends, and how businesses can strategically position themselves within the evolving global marketplace.

Nehemiah Best Practice Business Conference | May 15, 2026

Held at St. Giles Wembley, the Nehemiah Best Practice Business Conference became the centerpiece of the week. Entrepreneurs and leaders gathered for a full day of learning centered around the Nehemiah Business Life Cycle, covering every stage from discovery and startup to sustainability, scalability, and succession.

Hosted by Patrice Tsague, the conference featured speakers from across the globe who shared practical strategies, real-life case studies, and lessons learned from their entrepreneurial journeys.

The conference also included interactive panel discussions, peer roundtables, networking opportunities, and collaborative action-planning sessions that encouraged participants to apply what they learned directly within their own organizations.

Throughout the day, one message remained clear: businesses can pursue excellence, profitability, and growth while remaining fully aligned with Biblical values and Kingdom purpose.

Impact Gala Dinner | May 16, 2026

The Impact Gala Dinner gathered global leaders and partners for a focused evening on Kingdom collaboration and international business impact. A key highlight was the forum panel “The New Silk Road – Creating Win-Win Partnerships”, featuring insights from Asia, Latin America, the United States, and Africa on building sustainable cross-border partnerships.

A major milestone was the MOU signing between Smart Optimal Solutions (SOS), Swift Bridge, and Karuna, strengthening collaboration in innovation and market expansion. The evening also featured the Nehemiah Impact interactive panel, followed by the Nehemiah Vision & Ask, which emphasized Nehemiah’s foundation in integrity, purpose, and profitability, and its role in serving Malaysia and Asia through leadership development and ecosystem building.

In what or whom do you truly place your trust?Do you put your trust in God, yourself, or your business? What does it mean...
05/25/2026

In what or whom do you truly place your trust?
Do you put your trust in God, yourself, or your business?
What does it mean to trust in God?

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God." Psalm 20:7 (NKJV)

In God We Trust

The phrase “In God we trust” has been appearing on US currency since 1864 after many devout Christian Americans appealed to the US Secretary of Treasury to put an inscription on the US currency to reflect the fact that the United States of America is not a heathen nation but a country that recognizes Almighty God and trusts in Him. According to the US Treasury website, treasury.gov, the idea was that if the nation should ever be destroyed, future generations would know by the inscriptions on our currency that we are a God-honoring country. As this was the case with many of our founding documents, Congress agreed, and the phrase later became recognized as the nation’s motto.

What does “In God We Trust” mean? Are we still trusting in God today?

In Psalm 20:7, King David said, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” The context was the defeat of Israel’s enemies through reliance upon and trust in the Almighty. David was a brilliant military strategist and a great warrior. He won many battles and, through his conquests, established Israel as a great nation during his reign. But everything he did was based upon his total reliance upon the LORD.

Chariots and horses were sophisticated military equipment, and all the great nations and armies of King David’s time had them. They were the equivalent of today’s fighter jets, submarines, or military tanks. He understood the essential role that they played if an army were to achieve superiority over its enemy. Despite his understanding of military strategy, the use of sophisticated war equipment, and the importance of projecting strength, as a worshiper, he also understood that his victories did not come from his strategies, the chariots, or horses, but from the living God.

His exhortation that Israel should trust in the name of the living God above horses and chariots was a reminder to himself and the nation that no matter how great our strategy or how sophisticated our weapons are, our victory comes from God Almighty. He was declaring that his nation would choose to trust in God and not in its weapons. No wonder God called him a man after His own heart (1 Samuel 13:14).

Similarly, the phrase “in God we trust” on the US currency must not just serve as a historical reminder to future generations that America is not a heathen nation. It should also genuinely reflect where our trust lies today.

Do we put our trust in our military, in our sophisticated weapons, our economy, our Congress, or our President? Or is our trust in God?

Who is your trust, and how do you know where your trust lies?

If you trust in God, you will:
* Demonstrate “Godfidence” (confidence that God will do what He said He would do)
* Act with integrity (the means or methods – ”how” something is done is more important than the result)
* Employ biblical means and strategies
* Acknowledge God in everything you do
* Exemplify the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit
* Understand that your highest purpose is to realize God’s purpose
* Give God thanks for your success
* Accept God’s will in every situation

If you trust in yourself, you will:
* Exhibit self-confidence to the point of pride
* Rely on random chance
* Exemplify the works of the flesh rather than of the Spirit
* Employ human means and strategies (the desired end result justifying any approach to achieve it)
* Desire to achieve personal greatness
* Take personal credit for your successes
* Resist God’s will

Are you putting your trust in your family or your business?
Where does your nation put its trust?

Our prayer for you today is that God will show you where to put your trust – not in your bank account, your family, your business, your pedigree, or your nation – but wholly in Him, and that He will give you the faith to do it.
