Hey Urban Abundance Resiliency Gardners, do anyone need some Lovage for your garden? We have a small amount of starts left over you can pick up from Kindred. Lovage is a great plant that is both medicinal and beautiful. It taste a bit like celery and is used in soups, stocks, salads, and stuffing. We had a great time at the Mutual Aid Fair today. Thanks 50501 Clark County WA for inviting us to be apart of this incredible event.

Build healthy soil using repurposed organic materials!

Creating healthy soil for your garden does not have to require expensive soil blends or large investments in commercial products.

Many gardeners assume that productive gardens depend on purchasing bags of specialized soil mixes, but fertile growing environments can often be built using materials that already exist in the yard, kitchen, or local landscape.

Together, we're building food resilience by sharing knowledge, tools, and encouragement.

Through community programs, mentorship opportunities, and hands-on learning, Urban Abundance supports local gardeners who want to transform ordinary yards into productive spaces that nourish people, pollinators, and the soil itself! 🪱 ❤️

Do you know about our resiliency gardens? 💚

To promote food sovereignty, and eliminate barriers to fresh veg, we help to create publicly accessible food-scapes in Clark County, Washington.

We can help by providing vegetable starts and seeds, clear signage for passersby about the rules and purpose of the garden, as well as some supplies, which may include organic fertilizers, hand tools, and trellising.

Want to get involved?

Being a host means maintaining and stewarding a publicly accessible community garden space.

You can harvest the garden for yourself, and donate excess to a nearby food bank or pantry.

You'll also encourage others to harvest and be part of a growing community of garden hosts and advocates for food sovereignty.

Seeds started thoughtfully now have time to develop strong roots and steady growth before ever touching cold, wet soil.

When spring finally shows up, those plants are well established and thriving. January is the season where gardeners who understand this region gain an advantage by starting early.

Think of January as the foundation season. You’re not chasing fast results. You’re setting the stage for healthier plants, steadier growth, and more abundant harvests later on, with far less stress along the way.

2025 was a year of incredible growth and harvest for Urban Abundance! 🍎

In 2024: 17 gleans yielded 4,665 lbs of fruit.
In 2025: 31 weekly gleans yielded 15,059 lbs of fruit!

That's thousands more pounds of fresh, local food shared with our community. 💗

Our hearts (and baskets) are full, but we are tired! We're signing off for a winter rest, grateful for every branch shaken, every pound carried, and every volunteer who made it possible.

We can't wait to see you in the spring for garden starts and kicking off our resiliency gardens before the gleaning season begins again.

Thank you for growing with us!
Here's to even more abundance in 2026!
