Courtesy of Dave Bejvan, here is some great information on Hartford Airport. Hartford can be a very busy airport, so please take a look before arriving. Various parking spots, multiple runways in use at any time, etc.

Hartford Municipal Airport is the second busiest General Aviation airport in
Wisconsin.
Flight Training, Glider Operations and GA arrivals and departures are constant at
the airport each day.
2 Runways are available
9-27 3400’ paved in excellent condition and
18-36 2230’ Grass in good condition
All GA traffic patterns are LEFT HAND and Traffic Pattern altitude is 2100’
The chart shows *RP – Right Hand Patterns are for Gliders and Ultra-Lights only
There is a lot of flight training traffic at the airport, the flight school has 3 cubs, a
champ, a 150, Cherokee and Warrior and most fly each day.
BE AWARE - Multiple runways WILL be in use on any given day
The Cubs and Gliders typically use the grass runway and there is a “27
GRASS” (it’s not on the chart) that may also be in use by the flight school
All the flight school airplanes have radios and communication is good
Gliders are spotty with communication and usually the Tow plane pilot will advise
on the location of the Gliders if asked.

Rental Car Info now available

Hartford Municipal Airport is not set up for rental cars. If you need to rent a car, you can reserve one for pickup at West Bend Air (the FBO at West Bend Municipal Airport). To reserve,
• Go to www. enterprise.com and reserve online.
• Once you have your reservation, call the West Bend Enterprise office at 262-335-2660 (option 4 to get a person. Jamie is who we have been working with).
• Let them know that you are with the American Navion Society, are flying for our event, and want to pick up a car at the West Bend Airport (KETB) or need to be picked up at KETB and brought to the Enterprise office.
• We are working to get an agreement with West Bend Air, but until then pickup will need to be during office hours: Monday–Friday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm CDT and Saturday 9:00 am to noon. Once the agreement is in place pick up at the airport will be available
• Returns can be made at the office. After hours drop off is available at the West Bend office, just need to let them know you plan to. Returns at the airport, including after-hours, will be available once the agreement with Enterprise and West Bend Air is in place.
• Another option is to rent your vehicle through the Slinger office, 262-346-2107 (reserve online first) and fly into Hartford. Someone will need to shuttle you to the Slinger office (15 min). The hours for that location are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm After hours drop off is not available at this location.

For anyone planning to compete for Flagship, here is link to an article written by Phil Finet after he won Flagship. In the documents library on navionsociety.org, look for the "Flagship Judging" document. It explains some of judging criteria that will be used by our judges. Typically, Hal Kading, Phil Finet and Rick Mills.

Entrants, start cleaning! Only a month to go.

Today is the original deadline for Convention Sign-ups. Please get your registrations emailed to Rick Mills to make sure that we have a spot for you at all of the events! Late registrations can be sent, but we can't guarantee that we can get you into everything. If you have questions, please reach out to Rick Mills, Eric Rice, or Dave Bejvan. Our contact information is listed in the Navioneer.

Just to clarify, our seating for the Brewers Game is under cover, so no need to worry about the weather. That sign-up includes your ticket, food and beverages, so come have a great time.

Other events are the Harley Davidson Museum, a brewery tour, the Wisconsin Auto Museum and a trip to the EAA museum at Oshkosh. In addition, an editor for Sport Aviation has reached out and would like to do an article on our Convention.

Registration forms can be found on the Convention Tab at navionsociety.org or in the email that should have received from our email distribution on Monday.

Who is coming to convention??? Our deadline is coming up on May 14th. Registering by then is the only way to guarantee tickets to the Brewers game, which is rain or shine, since we will be under a covered area. A little rain will not keep us from having a great time! Come join us!

Also, please consider applications to the board, nominations for Navioneer of the Year and the Nancy Judy award!

We know that everyone has been patiently waiting for more information on this year's convention, so we just wanted to let you know that things are coming together. So, to expand on information already shared in recent Navioneers, here are some teasers about this June.

How about an airport that is a true pilot's airport?
-HXF has a 3,400' X 75' paved runway and crossing 2,250' grass runway
-It's an airport that on any nice evening, when the airplanes get pushed into the hangars, the grills get pulled out.
-Hartford is home to Cub Air. A flight school that specializes in instruction in the Piper J-3 Cub. You might want to stay a few extra days and add that tailwheel endorsement. Cub Air's Steve Krog will be hosting, along with the very active local pilot community.

How about lots of activities in "America's Dairyland"
-a fly or drive out to KOSH to visit the EAA museum? Maybe even log a landing a Pioneer Field?
-Tour a local Brewery that not only makes great beer, but soft drinks, especially root beer? (Yes, Rusty. You finally get a locally brewed root beer!)
-Catch a Milwaukee Brewers game?
-Did you know that Milwaukee is the home to Harley Davidson and the Harley Museum?
-Can you go to Wisconsin and not stock-up on local fresh cheeses?

All of these thing, plus our typical events like the contests, recognition, the welcome cookout, breakfast and banquet, plus many other optional activities will be happening.

Come join us in Hartford Wisconsin June 14th-20th!

Final details and sign-up sheets will be posted here and on navionsociety.org very soon!
