The BIA of Clark County is proud to be a petition location for the Building Industry Association of Washington in its efforts to challenge Washington's new income tax. BIAW has joined a coalition of plaintiffs challenging Washington’s new income tax in court. The lawsuit is being led by the Citizen Action Defense Fund alongside former Attorney General Rob McKenna and former Washington Supreme Court Justice Phil Talmadge. Washington voters can also support Initiative 26-645, which would repeal the tax and prohibit future state income taxes in Washington.

Supporters have until June 29th to sign the petition and let their voices be heard. Come by the BIA office in downtown Vancouver to sign or visit https://letsgowashington.com/ to find a petition location near you.

Homebuilding income can fluctuate dramatically from year to year, and taxing peak years without considering ongoing project costs creates serious challenges for our industry. The BIA of Clark County, in partnership with the Building Industry Association of Washington, strongly opposes this legislation and will continue fighting to protect housing affordability, small businesses, and Washington taxpayers.

💵 Jerry Maguire once said, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" and we couldn't agree more!

This year, the BIA of Clark County gave over $3.5 million back to our members through ROII. ROII is Washington State’s largest, longest-operating Retro (Retrospective Rating) safety incentive program. Through safe practices on their jobsites, businesses enrolled can earn an average refund of 39%. Our members have the option of investing 10% of that refund back into the BIA via our Political Action Committee which aims to preserve the American dream of home ownership.

These are just some of the amazing faces who received their refunds last week! Thank you guys for being safe and thank you to ROII for helping make this one of the best days of our year!
