This week, students across Clark County head back to school.

They’ll learn how to solve for math, reading, and science. But some of the most important lessons they’ll carry into adulthood won’t appear on a test.

How do I set a boundary?
What does consent actually look like?
How do I communicate when something feels wrong?
How do I recognize harmful behavior...in myself or someone else?
What does a healthy relationship feel like?

At YWCA Clark County, we believe violence prevention belongs in education. Because respect, consent, communication, and healthy relationships aren’t electives. They’re skills young people deserve to learn before harmful behaviors become harmful patterns.

Through our in-school prevention work, we’re helping plant the seeds of not just healthy relationships, but healthy lives.

And your support makes that possible.

As students return to classrooms, help us ensure these lessons are there waiting for them. Prevention is a lifetime investment. Together, we can leave a legacy of safety for generations to come.

Safe communities begin with safe childhoods.💛

Every child deserves a safe start. A place where they feel seen, supported, and free to learn, explore, and grow into exactly who they are.

At Y’s Care Preschool, we believe early education can help build that foundation. Our therapeutic preschool serves children ages 2.5–5 with an inclusive, relationship-centered approach that nurtures curiosity, confidence, resilience, empathy, and belonging. (Did we mention Y’s Care is now enrolling? Check our site for more information!)

This September 24, YWCA Clark County is participating in Give More 24! — and we’re asking our community to invest in safe beginnings.

Because every child deserves an education where they can feel secure, supported, celebrated, and ready to thrive.

🧡 This Give More 24!, help us create a safe start for every child.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day from YWCA Clark County! 🐾

Around here, some of our most beloved team members work for treats and snuggles (and many humans are happy to oblige). Meet our VIPs (Very Important Pups) who bring plenty of joy, comfort, and wet kisses to the YWCA. 🧡

We’re proud to be a dog-friendly workplace (and to offer a dog-friendly shelter), because we know pets are family, too. Plus, who doesn't want to be greeted in the morning by a wagging tail?

Want to work somewhere your four-legged coworker might fit right in? 👀 We’re hiring!

At YWCA Clark County, we think in lifetimes, not school years. 🧡

Our work starts at the beginning. When young people learn to build healthy relationships, set boundaries, and recognize unhealthy behaviors, those lessons carry forward into the future.

Future friendships.
Future partnerships.
Future families.
Future communities.

That's why prevention matters so deeply. This National Make-A-Will Month, consider creating a legacy that helps ensure prevention education is there for generations to come.
