A message from the College of Micronesia

As an adjunct instructor at COM-FSM in the Trial Counseling Program since 2008, Mr. Rescue was responsible for teaching 148 students (and a further 71 students as a co-teacher) who graduated with other majors in 26 programs (as well as trial counseling)! He was instrumental in helping to graduate 222 students who have gone on to work at MLSC, FSM and State AG’a Office, FSM Public Defender’s Office, FSM and State Courts, and have become judges. Many have also passed the FSM bar exam thanks to Mr. Rescue’s bar prep course.

Despite his busy professional life, he continued to contribute, participate and commit to educating FSM students. The College will always be very grateful and we salute Mr. Rescue for his vision and steadfast commitment. He will be very sorely missed.

We will especially remember Mr. Rescue's family, colleagues and community in our prayers.

Today June 4th, our Executive Director Dania Otto along with partner Nikki Chen, (Business Partner for the Engagement and Access Department at the City of Vancouver) share a conversation focused on minimizing harm and advancing equitable outcomes for the Chuukese community in the 2026 Washington DEI Empowerment Conference. Achieving racial justice requires ongoing awareness, education, and collaboration among communities and agencies at the city, county, and state levels. Together, we can continue pushing this work forward and creating lasting change for future generations.
