WHAT'S MY STORY? WHAT'S MY MISSION? For those who haven't been following me since my cancer diagnosis in 2023... Here's an update: Scroll, scroll, scroll, go back as far as you choose to read.

"Hi, I’m Dave Wood. A few years ago, I was at the top of my game until a cancer diagnosis sent me spiraling to the absolute bottom. To find my way back, I developed a roadmap of 62 Life Hacks—the exact strategies I used to rebuild my life and my faith from the ground up.

These hacks provide a toolkit for anyone ready to thrive. I don't just offer inspiration; I offer practical strategies for changing deep-seated habits, mastering time management, eliminating procrastination once and for all, and reaching next-level goal setting. Whether you are at rock bottom, feeling stagnant, or a top performer looking for an edge, these tools will sharpen your livelihood and your personal growth.

By day, I work in the Solar industry, but as that world has shifted, I’ve dedicated myself to this mission. LIFE HACK #46: PROCRASTINATION STOP SAYING TOMORROW 🛑

We’ve all been there. You have a goal, a project, or a lead to follow up on, and you tell yourself: "I’ll get to that tomorrow." The problem? Tomorrow is a place where 99% of dreams go to die. If you want to rise FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE TOP, you have to stop stalling and start achieving today.
Practical Tips to Kill Procrastination:
The 5-Minute Rule: If a task takes less than 5 minutes (like an email or a quick call), do it immediately. Don't add it to a list.
Eat the Frog: Tackle your biggest, most uncomfortable task first thing in the morning. Once it’s done, the rest of the day is a breeze.
Break the Giant: If a project feels overwhelming, break it into tiny, manageable steps. Focus only on the very next step.
Yesterday, you said you'd do it today. Don't let today turn into "tomorrow" again.

This sucks! I will never see a live Seahawk game with my son(s) again. I was invited to a game with Christian, my son, this year, but I had to tell him that my health situation would not be good enough to go. We spent years going to games 4 times a year. I would take each son 2x a year. What amazing times we had. 🙂‍↕️😔

Brenden (my youngest), would always be the most excited ,and pick the first game. (usually a Pre Season game). Then he would be mad when he figured it out later that Christian would always get the playoff game. Christian, my oldest, let him pick first. What a mean older brother!

I will forever miss these times. Cherish your health, take care of yourself. You may regret it later. Enjoy every moment NOW before you can't later.

LIFE HACK #41: HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT? 🎯


Success is rarely about a lack of talent; it’s almost always about a lack of trade-offs. If you want to reach a goal you’ve never reached before, you have to be willing to give up something you currently value.

The core of this hack is simple: Be willing to trade short-term pleasures for long-term gains.

True growth requires a "sacrifice" mindset:

Comfort vs. Growth: Choosing the difficult conversation or the challenging task over the easy path.

Leisure vs. Legacy: Trading an hour of entertainment for an hour of focused building toward your future mission.

Impulse vs. Intent: Saying "no" to immediate gratification so you can say "yes" to your ultimate vision.

The gap between where you are and where you want to be is often filled with the things you are afraid to let go of. When you align your daily sacrifices with your long-term rewards, you stop drifting and start rising.

Honestly? EVERYTHING! 🚀

I’m currently "Sleepless in Vancouver," but I'm learning, don't wait for "perfect" mood to get moving. When your mind starts racing and the sleep is gone, you have two choices: lay there and worry, or stand up and conquer.

I chose to get up and go to work.

LIFE HACK #6: MAKE YOUR FEET HIT THE FLOOR 👣


When your body says "you aren't sleeping anymore," don't fight it by staring at the ceiling. Your mind is already racing—use that energy!

"I’m fighting for my life, but I’m living for a mission."

If you’re new here, my name is Dave Wood. In 2023, my world was knocked sideways by a colon cancer diagnosis. Since then, I’ve been on a journey from the Bottom to the Top.

This page is two things at once:

A Survival Journal: The raw, honest reality of fighting cancer while navigating life, medical bills, and career shifts.

The 62 Life Hacks: A roadmap I created to pull myself out of the dark. These are strategies for mindset, time management, and resilience that I’m sharing to help you rise, no matter what "bottom" you're facing.

Why I’m reaching out today: I’ll be direct—the climb has gotten steep. Between health battles and the recent downturn in my solar career, I am facing an urgent financial gap with rent and medical expenses.

I refuse to just "quit." I want to turn these 62 Hacks into a speech, a podcast, and a message for churches and stages everywhere. I want to give back to the world that is helping me stay alive.

LIFE HACK #41: OUTSOURCING — Buying Back Your Life
There is a profound truth hidden in this meme. If you are a high earner—or aspiring to be one—time is your most valuable currency.

If your dedicated work time is worth $150 an hour, spending that hour mowing the lawn or scrubbing floors is actually costing you a premium. When you outsource those tasks to a local student or a laborer of that trade, you aren't just "paying for a service"—you are buying back your freedom.

The "Solar" Math
In my world of solar sales, it takes roughly four hours of focused effort to set one high-quality appointment. That single appointment can lead to thousands of dollars in commission. When business is flowing, I would trade the cost of a household chore for an extra hour of productivity every single time.

The Golden Rule: Investment vs. Expense
Buying your time back only works if you follow one rule: You must invest that saved hour into growth. * If you use it to slack off, it’s an expense. * If you use it to build your business or yourself, it’s an investment.

Why You Should Outsource Today:
Outsource to Empower: By hiring others, you provide valuable work and spread goodwill within your community. Your "chore" becomes someone else’s opportunity.

Clear the Mental Clutter: Trading your "Honey-Do-List" for a "Growth List" eliminates the subconscious anxiety of unfinished chores that weigh on your psyche.

Find Your "Explosive" Hours: We all have dreams we "don't have time for." What could you achieve with two extra hours a week dedicated purely to your biggest goals?

The Power of Leverage
Even now, while things are tight for me financially, I’m practicing what I preach. I recently hired a person in need to post flyers at an apartment complex. He earned money for several meals, and I got 100 flyers out into the world that could lead to a massive payback.

That is the power of leverage.

I hope this inspires you to look at your "to-do list" differently today. Stop doing the $20/hour work so you can focus on your $150/hour future.
