Tonight's the night. 🎉

Columbia Play Project is bringing together a small group of community leaders, supporters, and friends for an evening of conversation about what's possible for children and families in Southwest Washington.

This isn't our typical event, it's an intimate private event and an evening built for action.

We can't wait to welcome our donors, board, and community partners for our very first Summer Play Salon.

One stack of blocks. So many learning opportunities!

Parents often see "play."

We see future engineers, artists, problem-solvers, and leaders! Kids figuring out how the world works, one block at a time.

🟦 Engineering — How do I build this taller without it falling?
🟧 Spatial Reasoning — Which piece fits here? What happens if I flip it?
🟨 Cause & Effect — If I pull this one out... what changes?
🟩 Collaboration — Can we build it together? What's your idea?
🟥 Creativity — What if it wasn't a tower? What if it was a rocket ship?

Research consistently shows that hands-on, open-ended play supports children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development while building the foundation for early STEM/STREAM learning.

And it all starts with a simple stack of blocks. ✨
