Jackson County Soil & Water Conservation District The Jackson County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD), a legal subdivision of the State of Mi The District holds a Conservation Education annually.

The District can assist landowners with site selection, design, and layout of ponds, as well as engineering needs. Advice on such topics as fish ponds, pond maintenance, grasses, erosion control, gardening, watercycle, wildflowers, and wildlife habitats is available. The District offers conservation education programs to schools, daycares, and any outreach program. Safety Days are available by req

uest. The District houses soil maps, soil descriptions, topo maps, and historical photography all are available to the public. Soil sampling kits are also available from our office. Available Equipment Rentals:

- Lime Spreader
- Tiller
- 300 Gallon Sprayer

Youth Camp + Possible $5k Scholarship Opportunity for Jackson County students - currently in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.

The Jackson Co. SWCD sponsors (2) students each year!

It’s such a great opportunity for the our youth to learn about conservation. The MSWCC really goes all out to make this camp a fun learning experience!

Each participant will have the opportunity to compete for a $5,000 scholarship.

Deadline has been extended to May 8th.
