Buckeye Y Youth will be having a recruitment cook out to kick off the beginning of our new year. This will be Saturday, August 15th at 12:30 PM at the Smiley Park Shelter house by the pond.
Children 5 to 18 interested in joining Buckeye Youth this year and their families are invited. This includes current members and their families. We will have brochures and paper work available for registering your child at this event. The cost for a youth membership is $10.00 per child and $5.00 for each additional sibling. This fee is for a full year membership which includes club meetings, discounts on special events throughout the year. Scholarships for member fees may be applied for, if needed.
We will be serving hot dogs and hamburgers at this membership drive. Please wear masks and practice social distancing while attending this event. Buckeye Y Youth Inc. is a United Way Agency and a Van Wert County Foundation grant recipient.

Buckeye Y Youth is a non-profit youth organization and United Way Agency. It is open to all Van Wert area Boys and Girls ages 5-18, and is designed to promote self esteem and confidence in children. Young people need to know how to plan, make decisions, solve problems and take responsibility and Buckeye Youth provides the opportunity to learn these vital skills. Our program teaches volunteerism and offers many educational and recreational opportunities. Boys and Girls need to have friends, learn new skills and receive recognition for their achievements. They need to have fun too. Buckeye Youth helps to meet all those needs and strengthens the families in our community by providing fun and educational activities that teach life skills and encourage positive reinforcement.

Volunteer activities include making Valentines for Veterans, Christmas Caroling at the Nursing Homes, and making cards and tray favors for the Hospital and Nursing Homes.
