🇺🇸 A Message from Our New Commander 🇺🇸

The American Legion Post 178 family is entering a new chapter, and we are excited to introduce our new Commander, Nick Wade Sr.

Commander Wade has shared a message with our membership outlining his vision for the future of the Post and his commitment to bringing our Legion Family together. His focus is on strengthening our support for veterans, military families, and our community while encouraging members to become involved and help move our Post forward.

Whether it's attending meetings, volunteering at events, supporting our meals, sharing our activities on social media, or simply bringing a friend to the Post, every member can play a part in helping Post 178 thrive.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to read his letter and join us in welcoming Commander Wade to his new role.

Together, we can continue to build a strong American Legion that honors our veterans, serves our community, and keeps the values of the Legion alive for future generations.

🇺🇸 CARE PACKAGE DRIVE FOR OUR TROOPS 🇺🇸

The American Legion Family is proud to be collecting items for care packages that will be sent to our deployed military service members.

Let's show our troops that they are not forgotten and that their hometown community appreciates their service and sacrifice. ❤️

We are collecting snacks, personal care items, letters of support, and other approved care package items through the **end of July**.

📦 I will be bringing a donation tote to the Post tomorrow after I get off work, and it will be available for anyone wishing to contribute.

Some suggested items include:
⭐ Beef Jerky
⭐ Granola Bars
⭐ Trail Mix
⭐ Drink Mix Packets
⭐ Toothpaste & Toothbrushes
⭐ Deodorant
⭐ Wet Wipes
⭐ Playing Cards
⭐ Puzzle Books
⭐ Thank You Cards & Letters of Support

💲 Monetary donations are also welcome and will help cover shipping costs.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us send a little piece of home to those serving our country.

🏆❤️ A Huge Thank You to Our Auxiliary Members! ❤️🏆

I want to take a moment to sincerely thank all of the ladies who took the time to track their volunteer hours, activities, and donations and send that information to me throughout the year. Your dedication made a tremendous difference.

Because of your efforts, Unit 178 earned:

🥇 1st Place – Children & Youth
🥇 1st Place – Community Service
🥇 1st Place – VA&R

In addition, we were honored to be named the Overall Winner in both Children & Youth and Community Service for our group this year!

These awards are not about one person—they represent the countless hours of service, generosity, compassion, and commitment that each of you gives to our veterans, military families, children, and community. I simply had the privilege of compiling and submitting the reports.

Thank you for everything you do each and every day. I am incredibly proud to be part of such an amazing group of women who continually step up to make a difference.
