Pack 45 had an exciting and educational outing at the Air and Military Museum located at Drake Field in Fayetteville. The Scouts explored the rich history of aviation and military service, learning about different pilots and the aircraft they flew.

One of the highlights of the trip was the chance to sit in the cockpit of a C-130 transport plane. The Scouts were amazed by the sheer number of buttons, switches, and controls—it gave them a real sense of the complexity and responsibility involved in piloting such a large aircraft.

The visit concluded with a delicious lunch catered by Chick-fil-A, giving everyone a chance to relax and talk about their favorite parts of the tour.

It was a memorable day filled with discovery, inspiration, and fun!

Van Buren Christmas Parade was a lot of fun. The theme was Grinch or Toyland so we combined the two. Our grinch was stealing our Radio Flyer wagon full of elves and toys. This was a fun float to work on. We couldn't have done it without all our volunteers.

Over the last 2 weeks our scouts have been making ornaments to place on the tree downtown. We were asked again this year to decorate a tree for the Rotary Club Festival of Trees. We are sponsored by Strategic Realty LLC . Last year we came in 2nd place. Our goal this year is 1st. The scouts were so excited to get to put their ornaments that they made on the tree. If you want to check out our tree you can find it at Blanch Moore Park. Our tree is on the stage this year.

The cemetery resonated with reverence as scouts placed each wreath, acknowledging every veteran's sacrifice. Their efforts demonstrated a commitment to community and remembrance. It was a touching event that emphasized the values of service and appreciation for those who fought for our freedoms.

The Flag Retirement Ceremony for the Fort Smith Police Department and the Boy Scouts of America is a significant event honoring the values associated with the American flag. This solemn occasion allows the community to pay respects to the flag, which symbolizes freedom and sacrifice.

During the ceremony last night, worn flags that cannot be flown with dignity were ceremoniously retired. This event featured a speech emphasizing the flag's importance and the values it represents. Participants were able to reflect on patriotism and community service.

The involvement of the Boy Scouts highlights the spirit of service and the importance of teaching younger generations respect for the flag and its ideals. Traditional rituals, such as folding the flag and disposing of it by fire, were followed to ensure each flag was treated with respect.

This ceremony not only retires flags but also educates attendees about the significance of the American flag and the sacrifices of those who defend it. As the community comes together, it reflects on the values of honor, respect, and duty that the flag represents, reinforcing unity and pride within the Fort Smith community and the commitment to uphold liberty and justice for all.

Our 2nd Service Project for the day was helping place flags on Veterans graves at Fairview Cemetery. It was a little rainy and really muddy but we got the job done. The month of November is super busy for the Scouts. We want to thank everyone who came out to help.
