Florida Impact Ferrara 12U We are a competitive 12U girls travel softball team. It is fun helping hard-working kids make progress and seeing them try to reach their potential.

About the coach, Matt Ferrara....

I have a lot of playing and coaching experience between baseball and softball. As for playing experience, I am a former professional ballplayer who was signed with University of Miami, but drafted out of high school by the Kansas City Royals organization, and played 5 years in the minor leagues before hanging up my cleats in 2006. I have done lessons, ran camps,

and coached teams of all ages and at all levels ranging from t-ball to 8u/10u softball to high school baseball. I understand as much as anyone how hard this game is to master, and that experience helps me to understand how to correct things on the field and also to understand that we can’t expect every play to be a success. This is a game of fundamentals and a game of repetition, and I take a lot of pride in teaching the game to be played the right way. I am looking forward to continuing our success in the travel ball world and to continue learning and growing as a coach.

USSSA Monster Smash tournament runners up! 👿

Another great weekend in the books for our Impact girls! With it being a Halloween tourney, we showed you can both have fun 🤪 and bring focus! Our bats were on 🔥🔥up and down the lineup, pitching and defense were great as usual, and the girls are executing the plays we work on so hard in practice. Ultimately we ran into an excellent and hot Guardians team, who played a great championship game.

Another great moment for our Impact family was seeing Avery back in the lineup for one game this weekend. ♥️🖤🎉 This was her first game back after being out since June with a fracture in her back.

👀 USSSA Under Armour Shootout champions!

The girls played great all weekend long. 🔥🔥🔥They went 5-1, battling out some tough close games, executing when it mattered, and having fun as a team. Brinkley got her first OTF homer🦾, and the entire team had so many other great offensive and defensive plays this weekend. We’re so proud how hard these girls play!

Was tough to get a good pic together as we had to run to the cars to avoid the storm at the end. 🌧️

Finished as runner up in the Florida USSSA Softball Easton Ghost Series tournament this weekend!! 🦾… Some really tough teams in this one, and our girls were up for the challenge.

We didn’t play our best on Saturday 😔but did well enough to secure the #3 seed. Our focus this week was on confidence and resilience, and boy did the girls show both of those on Sunday! The bats were 🔥hot, the defense was clean, and the girls showed confidence in themselves that got them into the championship game. Even there, they fell behind but never gave up, using that resilience to rally late, but ultimately falling short by 1 run to an excellent SWFL team. 🥎

So much fun to watch this team compete. They continue to learn and grow together. We’ll keep working and building on this.

Another solid weekend for our girls. They are being challenged by many outstanding teams. We played the Florida USSSA Softball Fall Slugfest in Tampa, going 2-1 in seeding with only 5 runs allowed (pitching and defense were 🦾) and securing the #2 seed. Ultimately we were 3-2 overall, coming up short in the semifinals.

Our focus of this week was communication. This was a bright spot for us this weekend. On another positive note, our new grey unis are 🔥.

Back to work this week to get ready for the next one in 2 weeks! 🥎
