Car Rider Dismissal Procedure! 🚙🚗

Good afternoon Flint Lake VCS families! To help in reducing congestion both on Explorer Drive and Burlington Beach Road, please note the following procedures for dismissal for car riders:

-Once entering the parking lot, we will have two lanes running side by side going towards the building only on the north side of the lot.
-In the curve where student pick up will occur we will remain using a single lane.
-There will be a staff member there to instruct when to merge into the single lane.
-Please be sure to fill both lanes all the way back to the entrance of the lot as you arrive.
-We will stagger the cars entering for the merge between both lanes.
-Please continue to only have a single lane on Explorer Drive and not block any driveways for residents.

We have attached a picture for reference. The red area indicates where we will implement the two lanes. The yellow area indicates where we will have cars merging. The green area indicates where student pickup will occur, in a single lane.

To help ensure a smooth transition at the beginning of the school year we encourage families to not arrive until 3:00PM. This ensures that we will be able to have staff members outside who will be able to assist with traffic flow and getting your student to your car safely. Staff members are not available until 3:00PM when end of the day activities are beginning in classrooms.

Well… “4 days of canceled school” definitely wasn’t on our Back-to-School Bingo card! 😫

We know this unexpected start to the school year has been a lot for our Flint Lake families. Between scrambling for childcare, rearranging work schedules, changing plans, and trying to keep kids entertained at home, we know this last week hasn’t been easy.

We’re incredibly grateful for the patience, flexibility, and understanding of our families and staff as everyone navigates this very unusual start to the school year.

But if there’s one thing we know, it’s that our Flint Lake kids are READY to get back to school! 🎒📚

We can’t wait to see those smiling faces, hear the halls buzzing again, and finally kick off the 2026–27 school year together!

We loved seeing so many of our families at Back to School Night yesterday! We’re so excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to make it a great one for our students, families, and school community! ✏️🍎✨

We also wanted to give a special shout out to Pauline’s Cookies and Crafts for making our students these adorable cookies to help welcome them back!

Thank you to everyone that came out to join us for the Kindergarten play date. The rain didn’t stop us from having fun! Your K-teachers cut the ribbon to the new playground and it’ll be ready for you next week. 💚
