As we gear up for our 50th anniversary Harvest Festival, we will be sharing posts of the early years. For those of you who like math, our organization was founded in 1977, so our first annual show was in year zero of NIHPA's existence!
We would love to see your early memories of our group and the annual shows. Please add to the comments here, or email to [email protected] if you would like to have your memories shared. Photo credit will be given when known. If you would like to help plan special events for our 50th year, email us or comment below.

Come join the Northern Indiana Historical Power Association Sept 26-28th for day 3 of our 49th Annual Fall Harvest Festival!

We are happy to announce that we are partnering with the Cedar Lake Farmers Market again this year. It is fun for the whole family including face painting, bounce houses, ponies and many artisans and crafters as well as Food Trucks!

This year’s feature will be Oliver brand tractors and equipment and we will be hosting The Oliver Gang. Oliver tractors were founded Charles City, Iowa, where the tractor-making company Hart-Parr was established, and South Bend Indiana was home to the Oliver Chilled Plow Works.

Come see the antique power and farm equipment in action as they demonstrate everything from old time field and crop practices to sawing lumber the old fashion way on our steam powered saw mill. We will have a great display of antique hit-n-miss engines as well as antique cars and trucks!

Also, come check out our NIHPA Marketplace the Cedar Lake Farmers Market! We will also have live Music Saturday and Sunday. Swamp Donkey’s will be preforming 3-5pm on Saturday and Main Streets will be preforming 10-1pm on Saturday and 10-2pm Sunday.

Gates are open from 9am to 5pm with a variety of food concession and unique food trucks from around the region. Come on out and learn about our farming history!

Admission is $10. Children 12 and under are free! Remember, all brands and types of antique equipment and primitive items are welcome. Whether it's a tractor, truck, car, household item, or other farm equipment! We would love to have you!
