Thank you cards are ready to be picked up on the North end of the show arena. They must be filled out, stamped, and returned to pick up your check.

If you have lambs going home. They are released to go home, and the sooner the better!

Don’t forget barn clean up will be tomorrow, Saturday, 8/1/26 at 8am! Many hands make light work! And if tack items are left no guarantee you’ll get them back!

🐑 Friendly Sheep Barn Reminder! 🐑

As we get closer to the end of the fair, please remember that your sheep project isn’t finished until your animals leave the barn.

Until then, each 4-H’er is responsible for:
• 💧 Keeping fresh water available at all times
• 🌾 Feeding your sheep as needed
• 🧹 Keeping your pens clean and presentable

Let’s continue showing pride in our projects and demonstrate the responsibility and sportsmanship that make our sheep barn something to be proud of. Thank you all for your hard work, and let’s finish the fair just as strong as we started!

🐑 Hello Sheep Families!

As many of you are aware, due to direction from the Fire Marshal, pop-up tents will no longer be permitted alongside the livestock barns. While we know this isn’t the ideal replacement for “tent city,” we’re grateful that the Fair Board has provided a large tent located between the Sheep and Rabbit Barns for everyone to enjoy.

This tent is intended to be a shared gathering space for 4-H members and their families participating especially in the sheep, swine, goat, rabbit, and poultry projects.

During scheduled shows, the project currently showing will have priority use of the tent. At all other times, we encourage everyone to enjoy the space together.

To help keep the area safe and welcoming for everyone, please keep the following in mind:

• Please do not bring crock pots, mini refrigerators, open flames, or other similar items into the tent.
• Chairs, tables, and coolers are welcome.
• Please do not rope off, reserve, or “claim” sections of the tent. The space is intended for everyone to use and enjoy.

Please do not move another family’s belongings. If you have a concern regarding the shared space, please contact me or one of the other livestock superintendents and allow us to address it.

Most importantly, let’s remember what 4-H is all about. Fair week is an opportunity for our youth to showcase the hard work they’ve put in all year while learning responsibility, sportsmanship, and respect. As adults, we have the opportunity to set that example. A little kindness, patience, and flexibility will go a long way in making this a positive experience for everyone.

The livestock superintendents will be working together throughout the week to help oversee the shared tent area. If any concerns arise, please bring them to me or one of the other livestock superintendents rather than addressing situations directly with another family. We’ll be happy to help resolve any issues that come up so everyone can enjoy a positive fair experience.

Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation as we try something new this year. We appreciate your flexibility and look forward to a great fair week. Best of luck to all of our exhibitors—we can’t wait to see all of your hard work on display!

Please see the pen assignments below. We can move into the barn on Saturday, 7/25/26 at Noon, not before. And please feel free to bring lambs in on Saturday!

Barn set-up
Saturday, 7/11/26 at 8am
*Please bring buckets, rags, brooms, and your work gloves!!
*Our pens have been set up but they desperately need to be washed!
* Barn floor and walls needs to be swept and cleaned
*Screen shades need to be hung - need extra drills
*Signs and flags need to be hung
* Weeds need to be pulled

If everyone shows up and lends a hands this will go quickly!

🍀 The “County Projects” department includes Arts and Crafts exhibits and some Livestock posters, as well as County Projects. These are the projects that aren’t part of the state 4-H curriculum.
🍀Watch for the confirmation/error message 📨 from FairEntry to see whether your entries were successfully submitted and approved. Didn't get a message? Check your junk mail folder.
🍀Register all exhibits for all siblings on the same registration ticket. Otherwise, you will have to wait until the first one is approved before you can continue (usually 1-2 business days).
🍀Members must be enrolled in the project in order to enter any exhibit classes in FairEntry. If you need to add a project, contact the Extension Office for assistance.
🍀Need help? Can't find a project? Contact the Extension Office at 219-465-3555 and we'll be happy to help. Ask now, don't wait until check-in day!
