You are not required to use Rooms...

If you choose not to use Rooms, you should add an away message to your Rooms profile. For example, "I do not use Rooms to communicate, please (insert way to communicate) and I will get back to you as soon as possible."

When you are going to be absent, your only required notification is to enter your absence into Frontline. This should be done as soon as you know you will be out so the system has time to secure a substitute.

OCEA Building Reps are attending their Back-to-School training today!
Thank you to NTA Life, FEA, and OCEA-endorsed candidates for coming to speak, with a special thank you to School Board member Brett Hinely for providing lunch.

OCEA has reached a tentative agreement with the school district on contract language and salary increases.

Shoutout to everyone who filled out a survey, helped in the planning process, or served on the negotiations team- and a special thank you to the district staff for their transparency and dedication to public educators throughout the process!

The OCEA Negotiations Committee had a very successful first day of negotiations with the school district.
We were able to reach a tentative agreement on how to allocate TSIA funds. Per the Florida Legislature, TSIA funds this year can only go to classroom teachers with 10 or more years of experience in Florida public schools. We have negotiated what will amount to around a 3.6% raise for those 10+ year teachers:
10-15 years: $1800
16-20 years: $2200
21-25 years: $2600
26+ years: $3000

Negotiations are ongoing for how to allocate funds for a general improvement/ raise.
