The OCEA Contract Negotiations Committee wrapped up planning today. We look forward to sitting across the table from district staff for productive talks!
Negotiations will take place at our office:
June 22- 1:00-4:00
June 23- 9:00-4:00
June 24- 12:00-4:00
June 25- 9:00-4:00
June 26- 9:00-3:00

These meetings are open to the public and OCEA members will receive updates via home email throughout the process.

A number of you have reached out about a mistake in our newsletter concerning FLEX days for next school year. A correction will be sent out tomorrow indicating that we do have three flex days at the start of the year on 7/31, 8/3 and 8/4.

The OCEA negotiation team members devoted the day to refining their preparation at the Escambia Education Association office, concentrating on new legislative developments, effective contractual terminology, and negotiation strategies utilized by other unions.

SB 1296 has been added to the agenda for the Senate floor on Thursday 3/5. This bill is an attack on our right to negotiate. It’s an anti-freedom, anti-worker bill that will make life harder for Floridians at a time too many of us are already struggling just to make ends meet.
Please follow the link below to let Senators know that we support our right to Collective Bargaining, and while you’re at it- make sure to push for a budget that gives PUBLIC schools proper funding.
Remember, when lawmakers criticize unions, they’re criticizing YOU- the workers.
