On behalf of Your Neighborhood Council Valley Village Board of Directors and our Student Committee, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

This past year has been challenging for Everyone as we Worked Together to Keep our Community Safe and Strong. I want to Extend my Deepest Thanks to our Board, Student Committee, Members of our Board Committees and the Many Volunteers who Participated in over 400 Hours of Zoom Meetings, and Produced Events like Coffee With a Cop and our Annual Food/Toy Drive.

Their Commitment is what Makes our Community Great and Keeps Valley Village as one of LA's Best Neighborhoods.

It is Our Hope that 2022 will Bring a Return to Normal, and the Opportunity to be Together with our Neighbors at Events like National Night Out, Light Up Valley Village and Earth Day.

No Matter where or how you Celebrate this Holiday Season, Please Stay Safe. We look Forward to Seeing You in the Coming Year!

LIGHT UP VALLEY VILLAGE THIS WEEKEND!

The fourth annual Light Up Valley Village (LUVV) and Merchant Open House celebration of the holiday season will be held this Saturday night, December 6th. Festivities kick off at 5pm at the intersection of Laurel Canyon and Magnolia, with City Councilman Paul Krekorian and City Attorney Mike Feuer, Neighborhood Prosecuter Tamar Galatzan, representatives of Neighborhood Council Valley Village (NCVV) and the Valley Village Homeowners Association (VVHA), LAFD and LAPD and most importantly Santa!

This year there are four LUVV Honorees for Light Up Valley Village – including Michael Perrin of Valley Photo Service, Chris Carter of Carter Sexton, Jim Britten of Brittany Floor Covering, and Amy Schulenberg from the City of Los Angeles. They will be joined at the Laurel Canyon opening ceremonies by the North Hollywood High School Choir under the direction of Mr. Frank Lawrence. On the opposite side of Valley Village at Magnolia and Whitsett, local merchants have partnered with NCVV, DWP, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Street Services and the Office of Paul Krekorian to close the intersection for our first ever holiday street party. Magnolia at Laurel Canyon to Whitsett will be CLOSED from 4pm to 8pm.

Over 100 Valley Village retailers and businesses will come together to take part in this year’s LUVV festivities. A free shuttle service has been provided by NCVV to help you move easily between both ends of Magnolia Boulevard. (click here to see a video of the 2013 celebration) Show your holiday spirit this year and join your neighbors at the San Fernando Valley’s brightest tradition of Hot chocolate, cookies, carolers, Santa & More – Light Up Valley Village.
