Recently, the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island, was honored to welcome Lions leaders from Districts 20-K1, 20-K2, and 20-S as they kicked off their convention weekends with a special visit to the Eye Bank.
It was a pleasure hosting these dedicated Lions dignitaries and sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the life-changing work made possible through their continued partnership and support. Our guests, including International Director, Nadine Bushell and partner PCC Rudolph Augustine, DG Jennifer Seymour-Wright, International Director, MeIissa Washbun and her partner in service Gemma Ferguson, toured our facility, learned about our programs, visited the Tree of Life, and admired our Memorial Donor Quilts which recognizes the generosity of eye donors and their families.
During the tour, we also highlighted the advanced cornea processing equipment generously sponsored by the Lions—tools that help make sight-restoring transplants possible for patients in need.
We were proud to continue the weekend by participating in tabling events at the Lions’ conventions, connecting with members and celebrating our shared mission of restoring sight.
Thank you to the Lions of Districts 20-K1, 20-K2, and 20-S for your leadership, commitment, and decades of partnership in the fight against preventable blindness. Together, we are changing lives through the gift of sight.

Thank you to our amazing panelists who shared their powerful, personal stories and perspectives—from donation to transplantation and everything in between. Your honesty, compassion, and courage made this conversation truly unforgettable.

We’re also so thankful to everyone who attended, listened, asked questions, and helped create such a meaningful space for connection and learning.

A special thank you to our partners at LIJ Valley Stream Hospital and the Hispanic & Latino BERG for helping bring this event to life.
