Last week, we learned about cave drawings and prehistoric art, and what a fun program it was! We’ve had an amazing summer exploring dinosaurs, fossils, mammoths, archaeology, caves, and so much more through our Unearth a Story Summer Reading Program.

A huge thank you to all of our readers, volunteers, sponsors, and families who helped make this year’s program such a success. We have loved spending the summer reading and learning with you and hope to see you at our final celebration!

🎨 Our regular Storytime & Art/Craft program will continue on Thursdays at 2:00 PM.

🦣🦕 We had a fantastic program today with Ranger Brandon Kenning from the Waco Mammoth National Monument!

Ranger Brandon shared fascinating information about mammoths, dinosaurs, and other prehistoric animals. In one of the photos, he is describing the discovery of a tooth from a juvenile saber-toothed cat (Smilodon fatalis) found at the Waco Mammoth site.

If your child missed today’s program, don’t worry! Stop by the library and ask the librarian for a Growing Dinosaur Egg take-home activity while supplies last. Simply place the egg in water and watch it crack and grow over the next 12–24 hours.

Join us again on Wednesday, June 24th, as we learn about cave drawings. We hope to see you there!
