Year 2 is a rap! Thank you all for coming out and supporting our 2nd Annual Ridin’ With Rob event. The generosity and support from this community is truly overwhelming.
I want to thank the sponsors, the families that donated auction items or monetary donations, the riders, all who came to the event at some point during the day, everyone who helped with registration, the stops, and setting up and taking down. I couldn’t have asked for better people helping me and could not have done any of this without each and every one of you. ❤️
Because of your generosity we have been able to help so many families. We have purchased new wrestling singlets for the Effingham Kids Wrestling Club, donated to multiple organizations during match day, helped 2 families that lost so much due to house fires, helped with the delinquent lunch balances, extra milk and snacks at Valley Falls, Atchison County Community Schools, JCN and helped pay for medical equipment for a family when insurance did not cover what they needed for their son. I will be reaching out to several communities to discuss what is needed to pay for swimming lessons for this coming summer.
I also want to give a big THANK YOU to Brickstreet Bourbon. Thank you for sponsoring our event and allowing us to take over your restaurant for an evening. Their staff worked so hard from taking & delivering orders, preparing food & drinks, and just making sure everyone had everything they needed. You provided us with amazing hospitality. So if you haven’t been there, make sure you go, or if you need catering for an event, give them a call.
This last thank you goes out to some pretty special people to me and my family. Im not sure what I would do without these people in my life.
- Kelly Gatzemeyer….The man behind the route for the ride. He’s driving the route multiple times before ride day to make sure all is good with the roads, making us an amazing map, helping find places to stop, hanging arrows, hanging banners and keeping us all calm. His ride day starts before the sun comes up and ends well after it goes down. The provides some serious man power the day of the ride.
- Kendra Gatzemeyer….my voice of reason. She takes care of most of the social media, because she’s so good at it. Kendra is in on every aspect and decision that is made for the event. There is a lot that goes in to planning an event this big and she’s my Rock Star.
- Angie Gatzemeyer & Tanner Page….although they don’t make the decisions that Kendra and I make, their input and discussion helps us when we are stuck on an idea or if we need more thought put into something. Come ride day Angie jumps in where needed and Tanner helps with the man power needed to pull this event off.
- My kids, Quincie & Denten….they get as much input and decision making on the ride for their dad as they want. I don’t force them to be in on everything, but if they have an idea or suggestion it is always taken to the bigger group. (I mean Denten was so persistent on a shirt that said “Take it out and play with it”, he broke me and you all got 2 shirt saying options this year.)
Without these please and you all the ride would only be a thought in my head, but because of everyone it is a reality. ❤️❤️
