Commerce and the Kansas Community Empowerment program announce two new grants!

The Kickstart Grant will provide funding for smaller, community-driven projects, while the Impact Grant will support larger, long-term investments. Communities will benefit from the beautification, rehabilitation and reinvestment into public spaces made possible by these new opportunities.

Commerce has launched the Downtown Revive & Thrive: Rehabilitation for Innovation and Incubator Spaces Program. Communities in Kansas with 5,000 or fewer residents are eligible to receive a max award of $100,000 to transform abandoned or underutilized assets into bustling business, retail, or dining hotspots.

These grants will stimulate economic growth and add vitality in some of Kansas' most rural areas.

Valley Falls, KS - On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Valley Falls Community Foundation hosted its 3rd Annual Give Back to the Valley Match Day with support from the Patterson Family Foundation. This year's event raised an impressive $240,040.26, which included $140,040.26 in community donations and a $100,000 matching grant from the Patterson Family Foundation through the Kansas Association of Community Foundations (KACF).

The Patterson Family Foundation aims to bolster rural philanthropy and strengthen local communities. In partnership with KACF, the grant program encourages and amplifies local giving by providing up to $100,000 per qualifying community foundation applicant. Through this program, every local donation carries even greater impact, fueling critical resources for local nonprofits and inspiring broader community engagement.
