VCSU Green Dot

VCSU Green Dot VCSU Green Dot is a bystander training program to help students and VCSU employees gain skills to reduce violence they may see on campus and in the community.

Empower our VCSU employees and students with active bystander skills through awareness, programming, and education resulting in a culture where violence will not be tolerated and everyone does their part to provide a safe campus. The program focuses on reducing power-based personal violence on our campus and to address other social issues that impede progress towards a safe and equitable campus co

mmunity as stated by the official Green Dot program by Alteristic. Power-based personal violence includes (but not limited to): sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, stalking, and child abuse. Our program is housed in the VCSU Counseling Service office and we work in collaboration with Valley City Community Green Dot Program and Alteristic.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month!

In collaboration with VCSU Allen Memorial Library, APOC (Abused Person's Outreach Center), SVFA (Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals) and VCSU Green Dot, we are holding the Cats, Consent, and Cookies event on campus!

Join us on October 16 at the library to pick up some cookies and enjoy some kitty love and then head on over to the student center to gather information and resources about domestic violence.

Wear purple to show your support of domestic violence survivors.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and VCSU Green Dot will be hosting two events this month: Bystander Training and Denim Day.

Bystander Training will be held April 14th, from 2:00pm-4:30pm in the Skoal Room.
VCSU employees and students are invited to our bystander training to learn how to respond to power-based violence (sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking) on campus and in our community.
Our goal is to create a culture of respect and intolerance for violence by empowering bystanders through our interactive bystander training.
If you would like to attend the training, please accept the calendar invite in a follow-up email or email [email protected] to reserve a spot.

Denim Day will be held April 30th from 11:00am-1:00pm in the student center
Wear denim in support of survivors who have experienced sexual assault and come visit our booth for green dot merch and information about Sexual Assault and Denim Day
