Hi everyone! It's Bailey, the Volunteer Coordinator here at Wylde Horses. If you’ve volunteered with us, attended one of our events, or reached out about getting involved, there’s a pretty good chance we’ve talked at some point!
It feels like every time I look around the barn, there’s something new happening. New faces, growing programs, new opportunities, and more families becoming part of our community.
And behind so much of that growth is an incredible group of people: our volunteers.
Many of the people you see around our barn today first found us through a volunteer post just like this one. They reached out, came to a training, learned our horses and our program, and before long became a huge part of the Wylde Horses family.
So once again, I’m looking for our next group of volunteers!
Right now, we are especially looking for people interested in becoming horse leaders and sidewalkers for our therapeutic riding lessons, as well as horse facilitators for our growing Reiki program.
You do not need to come to us knowing exactly what to do. We provide training and will help you find the role that feels right for you. Horse experience is always appreciated, but reliability, willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to be part of our community are just as important.
This round of recruitment is a little more personal for me. I’ll be welcoming my first baby in December and stepping away from the barn for maternity leave for a few months. Before I go, one of my biggest goals is to bring in our next group of volunteers and have plenty of time to get everyone trained, comfortable, and connected with our team.
I want to step away knowing that our clients, horses, staff, and existing volunteers have a strong group of people around them, especially as we head into what is shaping up to be a very exciting 2027.
After seeing the incredible support surrounding our Silent Auction & Barn Party this year and watching our programs continue to expand, it has become even more apparent just how much our community believes in what we are building here. We have some exciting things planned for the coming year, and our volunteers are going to be a huge part of making that growth possible.
Maybe you’ve followed us for months and have thought about volunteering. Maybe you attended one of our events and wanted to get more involved. Maybe you love horses and have been looking for a way to give back. Or maybe you’ve seen me post about volunteering ten times and keep telling yourself, “One of these days.”
Maybe this is your day!
Volunteers must be 18 or older, and we are located in Valley Center. Please fill out our interest form and I personally will reach out to you with more information and get you on our schedule!

And to our current volunteers who originally found us through one of my Facebook posts, I would LOVE for you to say hi in the comments and share a little about your experience. You never know who might be reading this and just needs that little push to finally reach out.
