“Speak Life Not Death” we’re the last words spoken to me the last time Bro Uncle Chuck and I saw each other a few years back.

💯He was my VERY FIRST DISCIPLESHIP teacher and the one who OPENED my EYES OF FAITH by just keeping it Real and Relatable.

💯💯He played a huge father figure role to me spiritually and guided me in so many ways in our Catholic Faith and life in general when I was a teen and young adult. He introduced me to my first ministry, Hospitality and we even did Lazarus ministry together for a bit.

❤️I can go on and on about Bro Uncle Chuck for all the Impact he has made in my life for the 15+ years we were close because he was just that kind of a person.

🙏🏽Unc, it’s been almost 3 years since God decided to have his Faithful Servant home. I know you’re watching over all of us and I just want to continue share my gratitude for God putting you in my life and that I can continue to share our Faith with others the way you did with me and be Steadfast just like you were. Love you Bro Chuck✌🏽❤️

🗣 “Get outta your mind” (Lil Jon Voice) Lol. But seriously, if you have that YOLO care free mindset and just are wilding out, then yes Get outta your mind. As Catholics, we believe in Eternal Life. So it’s not YOLO, it’s YODO (You Only Die Once) 🔥🎤⬇️You’re welcome.

So having a pessimistic negative mindset that results in words and actions they ain’t Christ-like, is damaging to your soul and those souls around you.

This post by my Faith Fam is reminder that we have the opportunity to step into Divine Wisdom.

One of the harshest rebukes we see Jesus make in Scripture is not to correct behavior… it’s to correct thinking.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“At this [Jesus] turned around and, looking at his disciples, rebuked Peter and said, ‘Get behind me, Satan. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.’” (Mark 8:33)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s striking — putting Peter in the same camp as Satan. And what was his crime? For thinking… as Satan thinks?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For thinking as MAN thinks. When he should be thinking as God thinks.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For thinking according to human wisdom… when he is meant to operate from God’s higher wisdom.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This may seem like a disproportionate slam towards Peter, but let’s examine what’s behind it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
God’s thoughts are always truth. If we are not thinking as He thinks, then we are under the influence of deception — even if in small measure.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is meaning in what Jesus is saying here — our thoughts are going to be in alignment either with either truth or with deception. With the Lord’s way of thinking or with the deceiver’s.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is not meant for us as a shame gr***de or a scare tactic, as much as an indicator of how deeply God values our thought-life. And how important it is for us to learn how to think as He thinks.

There is a higher wisdom available to us as Believers — let’s step in.
