Thank you to everyone who has sponsored the Third Annual Books and Bites program at the Benicia Public Library. We will be distributing food at the library every Wednesday from 5-6:30 PM throughout the summer.

This Friday is Juneteenth! If you don't know, June 19th, 1865 was the day that General Granger arrived in Galveston, TX and shared the news that all enslaved persons were freed. TWO YEARS AFTER the Emancipation Proclamation was signed by President Lincoln in 1863. This brought the news of freedom to a quarter of a million people in Texas.

Fun fact, Heather was born just outside of Galveston!

Please come out to any food distribution you need this week. The Solano County Fair has finished (I hope you were able to come see the Fair!) and we are almost back to our regular schedule. Tuesday and Thursday, June 16 and 18, we will have our Fairgrounds food distribution from 3-6 PM.

Our usual Third Friday event at the Fairfield Suisun Adult School in partnership with Aliados Health and Ole Health is postponed until Friday, June 26th due to the Juneteenth holiday.

This week is the Solano County Fair, so we are taking it easy! Only three distributions this week and the regular Tuesday/Thursday distributions at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo are CLOSED.

Please come to the Benicia Heritage Distro on Tuesday morning, or the Park-It Market at La Clinica on Wednesday.

Wednesday evening is also the first Benicia Summer Food Program at the Benicia Public Library from 5-6:30 PM. We will be at the Benicia Public Library every Wednesday throughout the summer.

Everyone is welcome to all of our events!

It's time for our annual survey push! Please click and answer, it helps us share our impact with the people who give us the funds to do this work.

We survey in many ways throughout the year, by checking in directly with community members, on paper at the food distributions and online via the website or social media. Since our fiscal year is about to end, I'm collecting the last surveys we need to finalize reports.

The Solano County Fair is almost here! Please remember that we are CLOSED at the Solano County Fairgrounds site in Vallejo during the week of the fair.

Thursday, July 11th, is Family Ag Day at the Solano County Fair and tickets are just $3 each! It's a great way to learn more about the agricultural foundation of Solano County!
