We were saying this three years ago and it’s sad to still be saying it, with Visit Vallejo and Vallejo Main Street on Instagram platforming Dew, now as a mayoral candidate, all while the same VPOA that has funded Dew and so many establishment candidates is playing a game of how much violence and political influence it can wield.

“The reinstatement of Vallejo PD officer Jarrett Tonn—who killed Sean Monterrosa—is not just shocking; it's a devastating reminder of the urgent need for police accountability. We believe that community participation at all levels is crucial to bring about genuine change in the criminal justice system. This social media toolkit is designed to spread the word about an important event aimed at ensuring police accountability in Vallejo.

The Vallejo Police Department (VPD) is the most troubled police department in northern California. This is clear to residents of Vallejo, potential VPD applicants, local and national media, and police professionals in the Bay Area. But this has never been directly acknowledged by our leaders, nor has there been a substantive attempt to make amends to the families who have lost loved ones, to those who have been subjected to police abuse, or to the community. Past attempts at reform have been completely ineffective.

For decades, too many people have suffered at the hands of Vallejo Police. Lives have been stolen. Families are left grieving, without loved ones and without accountability or justice. Vallejo has had the highest rates of police shootings and liability payments per officer, and the revelations of wrongdoing have steadily continued. The lack of accountability and transparency are visible to all and ongoing.

The Vallejo Citizen Air Monitoring Network (CAMN) is pleased to announce the launch of its Indoor Air Project. "Americans spend over 90 percent of their time indoors, and poor indoor air quality (IAQ) is considered a top environmental health risk."- US EPA. The goal of this project is to improve the quality of air Vallejo residents breathe by providing at-risk households in Vallejo with air purifiers in an effort to potentially curb the immediate, as well as long-term, health impacts caused by indoor sources of air pollution.

If you or anyone you know is interested in a free purifier, please fill out this Google interest form:

RP TPUSA event coming to UC Davis with a guy named M*GA Hulk explaining how systemic racism is a lie.
Obviously this has our full support. 🙄 Definitely don’t use the link in our stories to sign up for the event for free as a student with a fake email address, leaving the event mostly empty. That would be bad. 😈
Most definitely do not register and show up for the event with a fake ID to gain entry, only to then pull the fire alarms shutting the whole thing down, or cause a general disturbance. That would be *really* bad. 😈
Here’s a roundup of what might or might not be real TPUSA memes. Sometimes it’s hard to tell. If one of these is real, please let us know? 😬

An abolitionist group, Vessels is committed to solidarity with families and any opportunity to advance our society toward a world free of violence workers and the immiseration and defunding of communities wrought by the economic stranglehold of police associations.
The firing of the murderer Jarrett Tonn, though long overdue, would be an important step toward at least some pretense of not being under total police association control on the part of the city of Vallejo.
Repost from ❤️

Ever since Sean Monterrosa was stolen from his family, Michelle and Ashley have been working with other directly impacted families, community members to fight for justice and accountability in Vallejo.

Our demands include making sure that the city council enforces the termination of the officer who killed their brother, releases the badge bending report to the public, and passes the police oversight package that has been proposed by the community group Common Ground.

This could be the final push needed to make this police oversight package a reality.

Help strengthen the demands on the ground by making a call, or as many as you can, at (707) 209-7176 to local Vallejo City Council members right now. There’s no experience required! When you dial, you’ll hear instructions and information for your message from the Monterrosa sisters.

🚨 We have a HUGE update in Vallejo.

For months, we've joined directly impacted families to PACK city council meetings and demand and all victims of police violence in Vallejo.

Now the city council is meeting on Tuesday to potentially pass one of our demands: the police oversight model that was created by Common Ground and is supported by the community. This will mean that police in Vallejo will finally be held accountable.

But the city attorney is trying to create her own plan that isn't supported by the community and will allow the police to police themselves.

We are SO CLOSE to making real change in Vallejo and need to put the foot on the gas! Call 707-209-7176 to demand that city council members in Vallejo vote in favor of the police oversight package that will actually hold deadly police accountable. As soon as you call, you will hear instructions from Ashley and Michelle Monterrosa.

You can also keep up the pressure by signing our petition in our 🔗 link in bio!

Tonight! Join and spread the word! Note that it’s the *CITY MANAGER* that has the sole authority to do the right thing and fire the murderer, Jarrett Tonn!
RP First slide RP from

Update: Meeting will start at 6pm!
Last month, we joined Ashley and Michelle Monterrosa and other impacted families from Vallejo to PACK THE ROOM at the City Council meeting. The council walked out instead of responding to our demands.

Now they are holding another meeting to discuss a new police oversight model.

We need everyone to join us and PACK THE ROOM again to demand that they adopt and implement the police commission and inspector general draft proposed by the community group Common Ground.

The police commission and inspector general proposal is supported by the impacted families, attorneys, and advocates in the community and is necessary to eliminate the city’s ongoing liability related to the police department.

We are also continuing to push for these demands:

1. Vallejo City Officials must overturn the Skelly Hearing Recommendation and enforce the termination of Sean Monterrosa's murderer — Jarrett Tonn.

2. Vallejo city officials must release the badge bending reports and recordings to the public immediately.

We need as many people as possible to join so that we can make sure that the city council follows through on justice and accountability. See you there!

Repost from ☀️

Concerned community members and the families of men killed by Vallejo police are scheduled to show up ahead of Tuesday’s Vallejo City Council meeting and demand action.

Organizers want the city to “vigorously pursue” the firing of Vallejo police Det. Jarrett Tonn and are asking the council to support the creation of a police commission and inspector general position as a way to reform the beleaguered police department.

Vallejo police Chief Shawny Williams moved to fire Tonn last December for violating departmental policies when he shot and killed 22-year-old Sean Monterrosa of San Francisco outside a Vallejo Walgreens during the early morning hours of June 2, 2020. However, Skelly officer Marc Fox overturned those findings earlier this year calling them “excessive,” according to a report obtained and reviewed by the Vallejo Sun.

A “Skelly” hearing is a mandatory review hearing for public employees facing discipline. Fox sustained Vallejo police’s findings that Tonn failed to activate his body camera and engaged in poor performance before shooting Monterrosa but found that those violations did not warrant termination. While the city can still technically proceed with the termination, despite the Skelly officer’s findings, it would likely lose during arbitration.

The impacted families last showed up during a March council meeting which was briefly shut down as they vented their frustration over the lack of movement in firing officers that bent the tips of their star-shaped badges after shooting someone. The families also demanded that the council reject a plan to seek a $30 million loan through the California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBank), to fund, design and retrofit work for the new police headquarters at 400 Mare Island Way.
