Today, on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we honor the babies who are deeply loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. We recognize the parents and families who carry the memory of a baby lost during pregnancy or infancy, and we hold space for the many different ways grief can look and feel.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At The New York Milk Bank, we care deeply about the health and well being of women, babies, and families. This month is an important reminder to know your body, pay attention to changes, and speak with a healthcare provider if something feels or looks different.

A new lump is the most common sign of breast cancer, but other changes can occur as well. Staying informed and keeping up with recommended screenings can play an important role in early detection.

This Feel Good Friday, we’re celebrating Aubrey and her generous milk donation! Aubrey recently dropped off her milk at our depot at Sisters of Mercy in Buffalo.

Milk depots are convenient collection sites where approved donors can drop off their frozen milk by appointment. The milk is safely stored at the depot until it is shipped to The New York Milk Bank for processing. Approved donors can find a complete list of our milk depot locations at nymilkbank.org.

This Feel Good Friday, we’re celebrating Renee, Danny, and their sweet baby boy, DJ. 💙

Their journey to parenthood was not without heartbreak, which makes welcoming a happy and healthy DJ all the more meaningful. Now, their family is choosing to give back by sharing their extra milk with The New York Milk Bank to help support other babies and families in need.

We’re so grateful to Renee and Danny for sharing their story with us and for turning their own experience into such a generous gift for others.
